Am i being impatient?

have a clone dm800 sim201.
BL82
i've just loaded Dreamelite from PRZ. looking nice, added TSpanel but that's about it.
what i've noticed is that it takes ages to boot. so long that i first thought my image hadnt loaded.

we are talking about 5 mins 25 secs from power on to tv channel clearing.
is this normal, or is there somewhere i can look to speed things up?

cheers

i havent timed mine but yes it does take quite along time to load up. i only reboot my box just before i download the epg so once a week is about it really, so dont worry too much about it

5 mins is a bit much tho mate , think the last time i timed mine , it was 2 mins , maybe reflash it and see how you go

I noticed that when I had a ext HDD it took about 5 min on boot up. Now that I use an internal HDD its around the 2 to 3 min mark.

Interesting, I have an external HDD (and Internal). I will disconnect and re-time.

As i am going to hand my box on to a non-techy mate, i just want a nice simple box for him.
criteria being:
good EPG
good PVR (timeshift and timed recording - selectable destination of int/ext HDD)
ability to connect easily to NFS share and play vids (so good media player and mount manager) - more for me than my mate.

I've tried a few images with varying results:
I'm finding the DreamElite i'm running to be stuttery on timeshift and timed recordings have so far failed (about one in four have worked).
Nabilo BH 0.12 has been the best so far. Only reason i moved away from it was for TSpanel support. Though i'm not sure why i need this! may go back.
Gemini Proj couldnt get mount manager to set up my nfs shares (was able to by using manual entries into fstab)
Oozoon & Openpli couldnt see my tuner (Hardware error) so i think this may be down to my sim/BL/imager combo (though i tried several BL 69,70,72,74,76 & 82).
Peter pan kept crashing when i opened different menu options. most annoying.
Newnigma - cant remember, but something pissed me off enough to swap it out, maybe i couldnt select where to save recordings...
RamiMAHER - couldnt find how to load CCcam !!

some of this will also be down to my newness at this - but as this is to be passed on, i want something simple.

If there's any images i havent tried (!), which you think may fit the bill I'm keen to try.
thanks.

Edit: Just done the re-time - no difference - 5:43 from power on to picture.
PVR is also unusable so time to reflash (maybe another image).
