You can't connect a hard drive directly to the dm500 because there is no ide interface.

The only way you can do it is by getting a LAN enclosure and putting the hdd in that. This has an ethernet connection and would connect to the dreambox via ethernet.

Hello

I am trying to work a Networked Hard Drive to record to, just wondering what kind of size to purchase.

Does anyone know what sort of space a 30min program might take up, to get an idea of what size I need to buy.

Cheers

Do you have an old PC that is too slow for windows anymore. If so make your own netwrok storage from the old PC using NASLITE 2, have a read here http://www.serverelements.com. Naslite was the best ?15 I ever spent on software.

Here you can find a FreeBSD based nas software FreeNAS. I used it in a pentium 166 mmx machine and it is perfect http://www.freenas.org use the link can see it.
