Hi guys,
this is not a section that i read much of, as not normally into this side of the ECU's..
so sorry if these are lame questions...
a friend owns this car and wants "more power"
i told him to buy an M3...:roflmao:

Questions...
1. Can these ecu be remapped for more power??
2. surley any re-mapping should be carried out on rolling road??
3. could someone please explain basic "theory and pratice" of "chipping" / "re-mapping" this car

Thanks guys :top::top::top:

Easy one this. Most are Siemens, apart from a few early cars in the UK with Motronic. Quickest way to more power is to convert the small bore OBD2 inlet manifold to OBD1. It's quite normal to see 25bhp (twenty five...) from this mod alone! I have a '94 328i with OBD1 manifold, supersprint exhaust, decat, cold air box, and BBTB on an unmodified ECU and have dynoed at 232bhp. I've seen circa 240bhp with a remap thrown in to take full advantage.
