08 535i New Dealer Key

My customer lost his key and brought me car and a new key he bought himself from dealer by using his vin number for 2008 bmw 535i, when i put the new key in the ignition i cannot turn and get no lights on dash, just beep and icon appears, a key with slash though it. I need to do some initialization procedure for this new key? or read/program cas mcu? since he ordered with vin it should already be coded to the vehicles cas3 automatically from dealer, yes?

Nothing else to do. Just insert the key and hold for a few seconds.

the dealer will order a key for you off VIN Number but they also say that there is no guarantee the key will be correct when it arrives, and in your case it sounds like thats the problem as the car should start straight away. Well atleast thats what they say here anyway, easier to make key yourself and then it will always work

check vin no of key against vin of car see if they are the same

vin is matching, still car does not want this key - i checked for codes with ops, nothing is there.

Now, i read out the cas3 dump with rosfar and key dump with hitag, attached is all this information.


Someone can compare this key dump to dump of eeprom to see if they should be compatible with eachother? Maybe dealer made some mistake and now need to edit the cas3 dump to match key?

Hi m8
climb in car open driver side window put in key count 10 sec take out count five sec and see if remote works that is how they did mine 2006 320d it sync in 10 sec and km will show on key if you read it again

it appears they made key#4 , but maybe someone already created key4 in the past and now it does not want to accept it? how to adapt cas3 dump to match key? hmm

have you checked to see if the key is blocked if someone else has done keys they may of blocked the old keys

it is possible to just edit dump to make it accept this key that is already made?

In the cas eeprom key#4 is empty and strange key status.

if it is empty then should accept.... maybe because of this key status issue? this can be cleaned?
