clear covering on the PCB

Hi all
Whats the best way to remove the shiney clear coating that covers some modules?
I have the Corsa Temic one here and the chips are covered in a clear shiney covering.

Heat, nitromors, IPA, combination, they've all worked for me in the past. I tend to just scrape off the crap with a blade, being very gentle not to damage the PCB.
