2005 reg, 1.4l petrol, engine code 14xep. will not start off key,just keeps turning over, if you bump it it runs and drives. changed crankshaft sensor,still the same, any help with this would be great, when plugged in opcom no faults in engine, in cim module it keeps coming up with transponder key fault, but this cannot be case as it starts of a push. thanks

while cranking what's the rpm with wich the starter turns the engine over?

Whar is the compression?

Check vehicle battery m8. it sounds like its dropping too much voltage when you crank using starter motor.

Thats why when you push it, it starts as no starter motor load to drop the voltage of the battery

i would agree with Obdmaster,
Must be battery or internal fault in starter.
Just replaced merc starter for simular fault,
When it was turned over by key, only turned over at approx
10 rpm and would not start. when starter and solenoid shorted together, engine turned over 10 times faster and started..

and or connect an external source, eg 72 volt battery fork truck.
battery milk float etc etc

when cranking, does you get "i love fuel pump" on live data?

It could also be the Ignition Switch Contacts faulty...........

Have you tried to power up the small wire to Starter just by living the Ignition at ON position and see If it will start...........

IF YOU CLEAR THE FAULT, THEN GO BACK IN IS IT THERE?

THEN CRANK ENGINE, SEE IF IMMO FAULT COMES BACK

SEE IF TURNING THE KEY AROUND MAKES A DIFFERENCE
