Hi !
Please select the same manufacturer as the chip !
I have the same bad surprise with 24CXX this week !
If you have good program with good harware, it will be good ....one best choose is beeprog+.....( mine ) with ETL too.

I've writen lots of 27512 PLCCs with the Willem GQ-3X without any problems.

Make sure the chip is blank by running the blank check feature. Sometimes even a "brand new" chip fails the blank check, so I discard it, due to bad manufacturing, I think.

Sellect the correct devide (AT27C512R for instance should work) and the correct adaptor for PLCC. Clean the contacts and eprom legs with an eraser or so.

And remember you cannot rewrite it! It's OTP.

Good luck!

27C512 can only be written once! You guys are better off buying a replacement and not one of those crappy 27C512-s. I once did a Clarus and bought a W27E512 instead. It worked like a charm...

For 27C512 you have to usePLCC32 to DIP28 adapter. PLCC32 to DIP32 will NOT work, tested!!
