millions of years to evolve..yet in the last 60 years or so mans advancement in technology has been at lightspeed..is this letting us know that roswell happend and that our advancement is with the aid of outside help...or should i just stop tokin weed:canabis:

after reading some other posts and checking some links i found a statement from a scientist called Tessla which totaly blew me away. dated 1937 ten years before roswell this guy had vision take some time to read this

a machine to end war, by Nikola Tesla (http://www.frank.germano.com/machinetoendwar.htm)

To be fair, the leap in technology didn't just happen over night, alot of the fundamentals have been there for a couple hundred years. The development of the transistor in 1951 (or 52 was it?) by at&t caused a revolution, but scientists/engineers/inventors already knew how you could build calculating machines and automate things - it was always impratical though. The transistor all of sudden made it possible to make these things small and easy to mass produce, thats enough fuel for very rapid advancement.

evolution doesnt matter one bit because sooner or later we will all be wiped out whether it be by another mass ice age a meteor or the sun just packs up nature moves in circles and in the time scale of the earth we have been around in is just a couple of seconds

help were all gonna die

A very pessimistic view to take red, but it's true - eventully something big enough to kill earth will hit. That is however without intervention or relocation, putting alot of effort into space exploration is the answer and trying to settle properly on other planets (mars for example - assuming we can terraform its environment). In the process we might even advance enough to defend earth from the threats it faces.

you never know m8 we may have lived there before who's to say as the sun heats up and cools down it may give life to other planets on the solar system

Mars would be a spring board to other planets, we wouldn't just stop there. After that we have to settle on the next viable planet and we would keep going from there. I beleive that it's our moral obligation to future generations.

if we evolved on this earth, and the percieved intelligence says we did, then why cant we survive on this planet without the the aid of tools or other devices?
Animals who have evolved here seem to be perfectly at home in their surroundings, be it sea, air, jungles or plains. They all have the means to survive their environment and to catch food without any help. Animals dont light fires or use the skins of their victims to protect them against the chill of night or winter. We however did. We need protection from the sun. We need protection from the cold. We cant outrun a rabbit or a deer, We cant swim after a fish and catch it. We need the aid of tools to do these things. Therefore we seem to have adapted to our environment rather than evolved in it.

Just a thought!

we have and do survive in all parts of the world to some degree and i'm glad we've evolved this way!!
dont need to light fires_ central heating
dont need to catch fish_fish counters
outrun a rabbit or deer_fcuk that they cant ourun a bullet lol
yes we have and need our tools _that is and has been the course of our evolution and why we are the dominant species on the planet.

I don't think you understand how evolution works, its just a bunch of tiny random events over millions of years with a system to eliminate bad mutations (basically getting killed by mother nature) . Essentially, our brains lets us handle rapid changes that evolution wouldn't catch on time, thats why we make our own way to an extent.

Generally it's called progress, besides it's a lot more easier to pop into Morrisons, Asda or Tesco than do any of those tasks you mentioned

back in our caveman days, life was sh1te. we were fragile and susceptible heat, cold and all manner of disease. necessity forced our brains to evolve so that we may better our lives. we evolved so we could adapt to life easier. simple tools were only the first step.
our brains evolved to allow us the capacity to come up with genius ideas such as tools and morrisons.
what else could we need? what more evolution is there for us?
i'll tell you what. our respiratory systems will evolve to cope with atmospheric changes whether manmade or otherwise.
