hi guys i have a focus tdci it originally came in because the immobiliser light was flashing constant and would not start. I coded the key back and managed to start the car but the abs light is on constant here are the codes im getting

u1900- can communication bus fault (missing message)
u2197- invalid data for vehicle speed
u2200-invalid data for odometer
u0121-lost communication with abs module
u2197- invalid data for vehicle speed

The chap told me he had it in with the dealers and they had told him its the instrument cluster so he bought a second hand cluster which i coded in for him but the original problem is still there

any ideas what this can be much appreaciated thanks

1. Use actuation test to confirm speedo moves the full range with no issues
2. Take on road and datalog wheel speed sensors, check they are all the same.

(If 1. fails then he needs a NEW cluster, refit old cluster and do same test if OK, then carry out step 2.)

3. Check abs multiplug for water ingress

do you have 60ohms between pins 6 and 14 at dlc? check multiplugs that connect to fusebox under glovebox as passengers feet dislodge these. also try disconnecting abs module.....check for corrosion....re-connect. finally check wiring over g/box for chaffing. these are free checks, if they check out ok i agree NEW cluster or repair. i have 2 55 reg 1.6 tdcis in at the minute and BOTH have faulty clusters. i am advised i can force the cluster to take an update to fix these with ids so will let you know how i get on when i get chance to get back to em. anyone know how to FORCE FLASH a cluster? regards steve
