I have been told that the BSI in my car needs replacing. The problem is the car is stuck in eco mode and cant be "woken up".

The original fault started with an error message coming up "electronic anti-theft fault" but after a couple of tries of turning the ignition on this fault would go and i was able to start my car. I spoke to Peugeot about this problem and they said it is probally just the battery in my key if not the key will need re-coding. I changed the battery and all was fine for about a week and the problem came back again.

Eventually the car would not start at all and everytime the anti theft fault message would appear. I called a locksmith to come and reprogram my key but when he come he told me the car is stuck in eco mode and is probally a fault with the BSI.

What I want to know is could this problem be the BSI or could it be something else as Peugeot told me it is a problem with the key.

I would rather pay for a new key than a new BSI

Thnaks in advance

May be some problem with transponder or com2000 or bsi. com2000 its the module back the steering wheel that recives the code from key and transmit via can to bsi. Sometimes may be some connection problem with the tranponder coil conection. They are all conjectures...
You must to connect your car to some diag tool and see what happens when your car don't start.
