Ok, I'm torn between DP3, Enigma and Dashcoder from Germany.
They all have their strengths and weaknesses.
So only a user that tried all or some can compare.
I need it primarily for Mercedes, BMW and USA market cars.
If I needed only USA I could get jprog6 but it's not good for german cars.
Please share your thoughts.
Thanks for your attention.

After having asked those questions here before, and getting flamed like crazy, ill be nice and try to answer to the best of my ability.

After doing a lot of research, I bought the Enigma.

Let me explain why.

Jprog is THE BEST hands down for american, but enigma is getting better and better and hopefully might have something comparable soon. As for euros, its decent but nothing special.

DP3 has a lot of obd options, has been around on the market and has stood the test of time. Its a very good product and on paper looks great. After asking around, a lot of users tell me its very buggy and doesnt do all that it says it does. Very good for mercedes right now though, probably the best. I also hear that customer support is the worst which for me is important. therefore i went with enigma instead.

Enigma is a very good tool. Many people talk highly of it and the support is great. I always have people to back me up and explain anything if i need. The machine does what it is supposed to, although some times not everything is clear. Some times i have to take some guesses or do some trial and error. Dont get me wrong here, im not the most experienced either so it could very well be my fault. Overall excellent machine, and probably the best for BMW right now.

Dash coder, I hear its amazing also, but I havent done enough research on it, nor have i used it so i cannot answer in much detail.

I suggest you do more research and talk to some owners and dealers. see where you get good support and which machine has the best strengths for you.

Thanks, I know what you mean for getting some flame :)
It took some courage to ask this after reading similar threads and still not getting clear answers.
I know it's not the exact science but getting user feedback is the only real help in choosing what's the best fit for You. I'm in Canada and there aren't any distributors or users that I know of the above products.

Enigma also has options to read Microprocessors so even if is not on the list of devices you can calculate with mileage calculator and do it manually.

It also reads secured processors and the super eraser seems to be a plus.

I'm saving some bucks to get it in the near future.

Yes that is a big plus of Enigma that it reads many micros and allows to save them unencrypted.
Not sure if super eraser is included in the package, though?

What about "carprog", "datasmart3" or "avdi"?

It is advisable to use a dedicated programmer for reading writing micro`s.

sometimes I use the programmer functions on digimaster2 to read micros like 9s12 with no problems. But I agree with you on reading with a dedicated programmer so you can manipulate the data easily it is easier to save on a sharable format without encryption.

I dont know how it now but some time ago dp3 was much more forward as competition with american cars. You should proof it before buy.

Nice, I do own that device already, Z786.
I have an Enigma question. Does it allow to transfer bin file from EZS mcu to a laptop and how does it do it, usb cable, serial, special software, flash card transfer, USB stick?

Yes it does. You read eep from machine, save it, the transfer it to your pc.

They are unencrypted if you are wondering.:tee:

Decided for Enigma and not because many lean towards it. It's the response and attention from the seller. I never got a reply from Elprosys and Dashcoder didn't seem very interested. If they so shy in answering questions before purchasing then what one has to expect after!
Thanks for those who answered and helped, especially Illusion

Ok thanks. Also,
Is it true that Enigma can read full dump of CAS 3,3+ by OBD and save file on computer for BMW?
