Injection pulses

It has always been easy to check petrol injection pulses quickly with an incandescent test light , the clip on positive and the point on ecu pulse output ,but , diesel and specifically common rail how do we check pulse with regular test equip ie test light , led probe or the scope ?

google polartron 1 might be the best thing but doesn't show if there's enough voltage to the injector best bet is with a scope to be honest
