i currently have windows 7 ultimate on my pc
i use to have xp also (dual boot) but got a virus on xp partition so ive formated that section and want to install xp back on that partition is there any easy way to put it back on there
ive tryed putting xp disc in and trying to install via normal way but windows 7 doesnt show the install section at the top
when i come to my dual boot operating section i have three options
early versions (xp which i formated), windows 7 and microsoft setup ( this was me trying to install xp again) when o select mircosoft setup the screen just stays blank and does do nothing
if any one can help me out i will be very greatfull

You have to instal winxp on a first partition then 7 on another.

If you create another partition for xp then try configuring the boot managers to tell it what to boot first

When loading XP you should be able to choose which partition to load it on - make sure you select the correct one I rename the partition with the name of the program it makes it easier to select. whenthe program is loaded look on the internet for a bootloader program download and run it and it should give you the choice of which program to run when you computer is booting up
