this message is for those who have smelecom tool, vag prog, datasmart etc.
the function vw visteon is work very ok in these conditions:
1. is coupled device at car.
2. switch on ignition.
3. read old mileage
4. write new mileage
5. remove the battery terminal with the car.
6. switch off ignition.
7. connect the batery terminal.
8. end

i hope it will be useful.

I work with this tool from 2 years but today it failed on Phaeton 2005.

today funny thing happened with data smart 3+
i try to read out of board a 93c86 from alfa 159 2007
the ds3+ start read and then show at lcd +- like this
failed to read put more volts and show me a grafic to put more volts i press to 5v and then ok, but all the times go to menu. i can?t read that eeprom.
then use our old friend diga and all went fine:dancing:
never see that before

I tested it 8 times on a golf 5 plus 2007 Visteon, never worked with smelly tool, removed battery, connected, contacted smelecom 5 times, smelecom updated soft, still not workling.

Even old diga can do this car by obd.

I have tested it few month before and on 4 Version he make only 1 very early. Corrupt 2 another dashes. Be carefully with this tool. Procedure must be wrong by smelecom because when I use XCAN I dont need to take out power supply.

Smelecom can not program visteon 95160 because if you program with diga it,s 95160.I made some newes 95320(after2007)with vdp without problem without remove battery

Smelecom told me it can do both 95160 and 95320, I paid also for 95160 and 95320. I have sent dumps to smelecom from a 95160.

It is now for me complete unclear:You say VDP cant make 95160, 95320 make without remove battery. Then for what purpose You give this solution?! I advise to be carefully with this tool and Visteon dashes because it can make error...

I don,t know where problem is I just writed what I made with vdp,maybe it has more versions of 95320,

if not exactly follow the steps does not work.
writing mileage, immediately after cut the terminal is not ignition off the car . work 100%
