All of sudden there is this 10 second or so delay from any input to a reaction from my pc. If I press any key on my keyboard or click anywhere with my mouse there is this strange delay.I have run malwerebytes and use eset nod32 also Microsoft's security essentials .It is an old pc with 1gig of ram , but as I say this is all of a sudden ?

Although will be heart breaking. Disable you internet, ~~~~ off for 10 mins, open word processer, tye something.
plug internet in, repeat experiment.
you could try swapping memory stick around, see if your hdd is full (data spilling out the back)

Try putting ccleaner through it, then defragment, see if that works.

have a look in Task Manager and see if any of the processes are using excessive CPU usage
