My father had a rather mild heart attack last weekend, which was very unexpected due to the fact he is only 47, very active (he dances 3 times a week, salsa ballroom and such), doesn't eat crap food, nor eat too much.

He has been in ipswich hospital since and as he had been in a week today they decided to put him through a treadmill test to see what step to take next (send him to a recuperation home or to a specialist hospital).

Just got out the bath and the wife called to me as my nana was on the phone and she has told me he has had another heart attack on the treadmill, I can't get hold of him just yet as i don't know his new bedside no. but the nurse has told him i tried to contact him and he has said he will phone me once he has setup his new tv/phone.

Thanks for all your kind replies guys, just thought i'd update this thread. My father has been to papworth hospital today to have some tests to find out if he has any blocked or collapsed arteries, they couldn't find any, which is good news. I was about to travel 90 miles to go see him, but a rang just before i was about to leave to find out which ward he is on, i spoke to him and he said not to bother as he will probably be sent home!

My father just wants to speak to a doctor before he goes now to find out what could have caused his heart attack.

Glad he's ok Wiiman, I'm sure he'll be fine.

My dad dropped like a ton of bricks infront of my own eyes about 10 years ago, it was very scary. I was sure he was dead. The ambulance came and took him to hospital where he was diagnosed with having taken a heart attack caused by blocked arteries in his heart, he underwent a triple by-pass and now he thinks he is superman! :)

It turned him into an entirely new man, previously he was a couch potato but after the op he had loads more energy and thinks he's the Six Million Dollar Man :)
