Got a problem with a 360 Slim.

I was told to take a game disk out of the DVD unit as it was stuck.

So I opened it up & stripped down the DVD drive to remove the disk.

Put it all back together & it won't turn on. The ribbon was not damaged & I've tried a new ribbon.

The power brick is orange

There's just no sign of life.

Typically I never checked it was working correctly before, but taking the drive wouldn't open before I'm thinking there was an issue with the ribbon.

Called the customer, but not the user. They seem to think it was working but were unable to confirm. Also found out it was still under warranty...up until I opened it up.

A google search shows similar problems, but no solutions.

Which ribbon, from front face to xbox?

That's the one. Touch sensitive pads for power & eject.

Also checked for shorting on USB ports.

If it was shorted USBs the power brick would be red i think. Will see what i can dig out now but you could be best posting over on TX forums. They pointed me in right direction on a shorted board :)

Might need to speak to the kid that actually plays on it.

Everything is pointing towards the ribbon being the cause. If even a scratch can cause problems it's going to be another pain it the ass for microshite.
