This satellite malarkey is great fun - there is so much so much to choose from.
Strange, then, that my question is this:
How do you add more satellites to the preprogrammed list on a Technomate 5400? If possible, I'd like to keep all the existing sats, even though I have trouble finding some of them, although this is not too important. The TM manual is not very clear on this point.

the easiest way to add satellites to your satellite list
is to turn on. you can do this on any satellite
next on the remote press menu>and go to satellite setup
and on the top line you will see the name of the saellite your
dish is pointing at ie: hotbird click>ok and a small panel will open
showing your present list of satellite you have set on your menu
you scroll up or down the list with you chn buttons and press yellow
on any new satellite you want to add to your list, then exit the menu
now you cand send the dish to thee satellites and scan the channels in

Thanks Benny. Haven't tried it yet, but I will after I've watched the New Year party on ARD. Happy New Year!

Yep - that worked. I'm guessing that if a new sat is launched into orbit, the position and transponder information will become available in a new patch? (If that's the way it works)

it does'nt work like that mate, the patch only opens the channels
and is third party software based on the official software
the easiest way is to wait for new official software from the
manufactures website with any and all new satellites and tp's
added in the software. then you need a factory reset and load
the latest software and your chn list and repatch and you will
now find the new sat on your receiver channel list.
or you can add satellites and there possitions in the receiver menu.
