I'm also looking into a tablet. Did you find the 7" screen too small. I think a 9" might be just right size?

I have an Archos 101 with a 10" screen, i found that it gave me a lot of eye strain reading on the LCD screen, I tried the mrs 7" tablet but same again eye strain.

I bought a Kindle keyboard from amazon for ?79 brand new from the amazon warehouse and found I can read for hours without any problems. Besides being ?10 cheaper than the new kindle it also has 4gb memory (the new one has 2gb) and it has twice the battery life.

Everyones eyes are different tho.

I am using WoPad i7 which I bought from AliExpress. I think the weight and size decent for a reader. The applications that I use are PDF Viewer and Aldiko. Both come with a day/night mode.

Can't comment specifically on that but if you want something you can use for reading on holiday; assuming like me you want some sun; the Kindle has the best screen for reading - no glare. I know it's no good if you really want a tablet but just offering that up. My daughter bought me a Kindle for Christmas and when I started looking at tablets I thought I'd sell the Kindle but decided to have both as I really want something I can read with when sitting in the sun.

Wife has a 7" tablet and she seems to like reading with the kindle app and pdfs on it, not much differnece to reading a small paperback.
