Hi.
A6 C5 was swapped engine from 2.5tdi to 1.9tdi.

Everything is works great except OIL sensor issue. New engine doesn't have it.

How to disable it?
VCDS codding have no options about it.
I think it can be disabled in eeprom.
Cluster is VDO 8D0 920 931 without any letter.
Later I could be able to upload readout.

Also I cannot find sensor's testing procedure so don't know how to bypass it.

Please help, hate that sign in board computer.

It is done with the soft coding (in the instrument cluster). Post the current value and I will see if I can find the value for cars without longlife service/oil sensor.

As I now, cluster 8D0919881H don't have this oil sensor.

Soft codding is 01140 (8D0920931)

Hi, one solution is to plug only the sensor but I don't like it at all.

I would like to learn to switch it off myself.

just find the resistance oil sensor gives, then put resistor in-circuit

I'm quite sure, this sensor is not working that way.

I had a look and cannot find what to change. I know it can be done as I have done it on a seat I just cant remember how. I thought I did it with the soft coding.

Up, solution not found yet

I reckon Z786 is right. Sensor from old engine & wiring must still be there so apply some resistance to the sensor plug.

Is it an oil pressure (I think not is my answer) or an oil level sensor?

The resistance won't help. Oil temperature is not problem.
Level sensor works like PWM than resistance.

Thanks for the link.
It's one solution.

Fault code is 00562. I'm still sure it can be easily disabled in file.
