Hello,

I have EIS W203 with a damaged motorola 2J74Z, only work at high temperature.
The key and remote stop working seems to be a common problem.

With a programmer a have read successful the keys MCU 4J74Z,
But I am unable to read the chip MCU 2J74Z. I tried to warm it, no success.

Can I change only the key?s MCU 4J74Z to a used EIS to solve the problem?
Or exist any vital information in MCU 2J74Z that have need to be copied to a replacement EIS.
Or can I get a dump file, buy a new chip and flash it.
Tanks.

Thank you very much, I will try it.
what kind of information has the MCU 2j74z inside? ..
nobody knows the functionality of each chip?
4J74Z ... key data.
2J74Z... ??????
Thank again.

One is key data and the athoer is cluster info!!:saint:

I guess information like mileage in second chip.. Correct?

Can use a second hand EIS and copy (or disorder for one to other) only the 4J74Z.
And ignore the info in 2J74Z, or that will conduct to any other problem.. like cluster malfunction or bad data.

I see others with the same problem. maybe this explanation will help them too.

you have to either replace both or write the content of the old one to the new EIS.

installed a temporary heating system in EIS. stil working.
I am having trouble reding 2J74Z chip.

Have read the EEPROM but not FLASH...
My idea is replace the chip for a new one.
Can someone have a flash dump for this chip so I can replace the chip for a new one.

What kind of " temporary heating system " did you make ?
Why nobody tell us what are they make to repair broken EIS, what component did they change? it could be the switch , the MCU's , the IR- diode, anybody ? no ideea?
There are a lot of people on the internet they say they can repair old EIS....
Anybody any ideea ?

Best regards,

I have simply make a hole in the EIS box and put some resistors heating the 2J74Z chip..
Confirm that is not a PCB problem but the chip.. still looking for a flash dump :(

change the chips to other PCb, same symptoms .. confirm in my case that is not a PCB problem. that is the 2J74Z chip itself.
Have make the other test using a freeze spray in the chip.. confirm a chip problem.
still looking for a flash dump...

if you get good eis with same part number.. you just write eeprom, no need write flash..

need write both mcu... one mcu for data key, and one more for data cluster..

good luck....
