read the 8 pin chips and copy data to the used ecu .or replace the damage ecu 8 pin to the used one 8 pin chip

i think that two of them hold the immo data and the sychro

i think i have found it marked L56R IC240 on the board

on codecard website it says

L56R - EEPROM used in japan car electronic

Low voltage 93C56 EEPROM marked as L56R.

Low voltage 93C56 EEPROM marked as L56R. Can replace any 93C46 EEPROM in SO8 package with normal pinouts

No, use 93xx56.

L56R ~ 93xx56
L66R ~ 93xx66

I think better if YOU use Honda diagtool and program ECU , or visit HONDA dealer it is not verry costly.

how do you know honda tool will program a used ecu, it will take 2 minutes to swap eprom over from 1 ecu to the other

There is something odd about this L56R chip,
I had to swap one to another ecu recently because i couldn't read it no matter what i tried to read it with, i even tried it with rotated format but no joy. Can anyone advise why is this.

NO, but

1) SOMEWHERE premerD said "They just knacker up on there own sometimes"

2) had it my self, blank it, a few times, then try reading it.
had a few corrupt chips - bbit verses 16 bit?

3 If your in a car park, OLD fiat ducato 1998 ish, yank immo box out
they have "LR46"
