Don't bother yourself with eeprom matters, get a tcode and simply program the ecu.

If you have a programmer for renesas MH83xx series, just read MCU`s flash and put dumps of ecu (512kb) and immo here. I will try to help you with matching immo+ECU.

Changing ECU in Montero is same as programming key to the car, i have done it at least 3 times. You don't need any card , when you need pin, tcode provides it for you so you just go ahead and do it.

i tried to program keys to it,it didnt work i have tcode and it bypasses any pin code.

There is a light that should show on the dash , can't really remember what sign it is again but its controlled by a relay on the front right side of the passenger seat. If its off or bad, programming won't take place

I do not know about solution like `Sogaro` says, with keys rewriting. In this cause i am writing synchro bytes manually in dumps of ECU and IMMO.
Only MMCFlasher (??????? ??????? (http://www.mmcflash.ru/catalog/)), Piasini flasher and Ecuflash software (??????? ??????? (http://www.mmcflash.ru/catalog/)) may read this ECUs types.
Use OPENPORT 2.0 (cost above 180 USD - this is best tool for Mitsubishi, Mazda and Subaru chiptuning and ECU`s rewrite) with Ecuflash software for easy read/write this ECU via K-Line. Dump size is 512KB. Flashing method: EVO9

Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 official site - Tactrix (http://www.tactrix.com/)
MMCflasher software official site - ??????? (http://mmcflash.ru/) , http://mmcflash.ru/forum/index.php?showforum=9?
Piasini flasher official site - Home: Piasini Engineering (http://www.piasiniengineering.com/)
Ecuflash software available on Tactrix site in download section (look at link in my previous post)
Only MMCFlasher can do some specific Mitsubishi ECUs (Lancer X 1.5 and etc). This software is also support reflashing of Mazda (all ECUs with MCU renesas SH70xx) and Ford (Visteon, SIM28) vehicles and this fllasher works perfect via OBD.

another question raised, would it be possible to just read the old computer, and write over the donor one? using the dump from the original

@sogaro it doesn't work when you are matching ecu. it easy to program key with tcode but doesn't work for ecu.
