it won't get you any channels on 28.2e mate. (apart from fta)
you need to have a look at whats available...i think stuff n digitalb is available amongst other things.
if i was you i'd give it back to him. :)

Have to agree with alom. Your friend should have give you a bit of advice with the sale but from what ive gathered on the spiderbox 7000hd 16 east is your best bet to get the most out of the gift patch. but google is your friend also try alsat forum. hope this helps.

What firmware have you got on it?..[i think it should be october 10]..go to menu scroll to system information using the arrowed button's in the middle of your remote [left right up down]..find out what it is and come back and tell us!!..At the moment i have to update a spider 9000hd so i could probable talk you through it at the same time..[same way as the 7000]..

connect box up to dish/tv/broadband.
(1) do factory reset
(2)load patch I"m sending Software only
(3) factory reset again
(4)menu>network press 1111 on h/set,turn network and ethernet on and register
(5)load a channel list or scan (you can use the one I"v sent but it may not suit)
(6)enter your long/lat and display timeouts etc
(7)go to key edit turn ucas & ucas auto roll on
(8)re-set key data and load softcam I"m sending.
any probs just ask there is still a lot of channels open on these boxes on ethernet as well as via ucas/softcam as said digitalb is the most stable on ethernet but stuff on 0.8 West is pretty good too as well as 13E xxx stuff.STB_DB is the channel list

your channel list wont have the new digitalb TPS which are,
10.762,10.803 & 10.845 all H and 27500.tring is still 11.283V 27500 make sure your dish alignment is ok as sat is still on the move and you cant alter the sat position in the box from 16E without problems.

Digitalb on 16E W3C transponders are now 10.803 H,10.762 H,& 10.845 H all 27500 you can add these in the manual scan menu, but if your box is over 1yr old you have probably been cut off from the server check in "network" that ethernet is connect and not showing error code(0)

Hi I just bought a 7000hd from a satellite shop. I was wondering if someone could let me know what I should download to get it working to it's best. I have been reading the threads which are very helpful thanks. I would contact the satellite shop but they are now finished until after Xmas...typical lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found this elsewhere:
FM hardware boxes - NOT WORKING - error code (0)
RM hardware boxes - WORKING- login says CONNECTED
You can check which Hardware version your receiver is in System Information Menu

stick the 15 nov 2011 patch on it after a fact reset and fact reset yet again , then a channel list , turn on networking using 1111 code on network , now sort out ip address from router , turn on ETHERNET so it says CONNECTED , turn on both ucas in keyedit above network , add HDsoftcam , input usals if on a motor
that should do it for now , unless you have any N or C lines to add

mate i have the 7000 and if i was doing it again i would get the 9000 mainly because you have 2 ci slots you never know when you may have to buy a viewing card
CI slots are common interface slots and are for cams not cards
CA slots are for cards (Conditional Access) and all the spider boxes have a CA slot , my 7000 has a card in it as I type this message ;)

Hi All, I'm no expert and not a newbie as such. I've followed the Starview HD Combo, Blade BM7000 and now I have acquired a Wiztech 9555 HD Ci. A comment I read in the forum suggested that it was a Twin Tuner Spider? My question therefore is can this be infused with that firmware or can anybody update me on a possible source for a loader? Thanks in Advance (TIA)
