Willem and 29F400
Right I have decided to try and see if I can learn the black art of soldering and eeprom flashing using my Willlem Enhanced and my soldering station. This is mostly an experiemtn to see if I can manage to do it right before I invest in some better equipment.
So I bought some empty AMD 29F400BB 70ns chips, some sockets and a TSOP48 adapter for the Willem.
I soldered one of the sockets onto the TSOP48 adapter (comes without a socket). As far as I can see contact are good - but I'm having problems both reading and writing in the Willem :stoned:
I use version ja of the eeprom3, my Willem is a Willem Enhanced which is powered from the USB. Ok, so I select AM29F400 in the device list and I setup the jumpers accordingly. Clickinjg read and it looks like it reads fine, the buffer reads 00 00 00 00 00 which I believe is fine when reading an empty chip.
Then I load an ori into the buffer to try and write it to the chip - but then I get the following error: ERROR at 0x00000 Chip = 0x00 buffer= 0xc3 which I guess is because it cannot write the first byte to the chip http://www.chiptuners.org/forums/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif
Now what to do - has anybody had any success with writing 29F400 with Willem and TSOP48 adapter?
