Post a picture of the micro or write here the mask.
Have you tried the contents file from upa? it tells you how to connect it.

Plug 48, but you need to verify the correct colors on the cable. Clone cables are all the wrong color.
To read it, under eeprom select SET TYPE: EEPROM/MCU/9S12

my clone has the right color wires buy the digi clones from buyobdtool.com they have good wiring and have been reliable for me

:roflmao:......................................... ............................YEAH SURE all trade houses no idea of product usage
best way to know is to take off the black cover, even if you have the right colors it maybe wrong for others in the future

i have little update how i did read that board.
i used carprg with A10 cable with only 2 wires. grey wire BKGD and blue wire to RESET. this particular board with 144 pin (mask 1k78x)mcu doesn't have reset pin connected to one of 6 contract points like some other fords or nissans. see picture where blue wire was connected. double check with dvom blue wire reset pin 54, grey wire BKGD pin 53
and provided power to board pins 1 and 17 +12v, pin2 NEG. for some reason carprog couldn't provide adequate power by itself even with its own power adapter connected.

file is incomplete your milage should be at lines F30-F80

thank you, not only file incomplete also its a bad read, when i was trying to read it second time file was totally different and 5 more times and it was always different. so something really happening to my read. and i can't figure out how to read it properly.
if i try to read with Xprog connecting only 2 wires it gives me error unknown 9s12 mcu. if i connect 4 wires sometimes i get error "device is silent" sometimes i get nothing.
may be this is secured mcu? how can i check. connection for secured is a little different for Xprog.

Try it with these colors using carprog a10...dont need to power up cluster
nickolasd
25th April, 2016, 05:22 AM
connection dot you marked BLUE doesn't go to pin 54 Reset , thats why i connected blue almost directly to MCU. if i use red and brown wires connected, carprog can read it but all ff.

A lot of Fords BDM pads not connected to the processor. Wish I had a solution for you, but never seen one of these yet.
Try a different programmer perhaps?

i tried already digiprog3, Xprog clones and carprog ori. also have upa clone but don't know how to connect it.
i checked each bdm pad with DVOM to make sure it connected to mcu, they all do except RESET

Connect UPA same as any 9S12, BKGD, GND, RESET, VDD. May have to lift reset pin on MCU. :dontknow:
nickolasd
25th April, 2016, 06:43 AM
got it to read with upa, no need to lift pins, all works good, no need for external power to cluster or to upa.
hours stored at line f20-f30 miles at f40-f80.
changed file and wrote it back, double checked and re read it again all looks good.
now i got ERROR on a dash instead of miles but hours are OK.
can someday check my calc. attached files ori and mod.
old 151489miles 3541h
new 75000m 900h

if you have 144 pin mcu find where pin 54 "reset" goes to, anywhere on an board and connect to that spot, use DVOM to find, you can try to connect directly to pin 54 but there are small so its quite difficult. do the same thing with BKGD pin 53 in my case, VDD and GND as well.
