I tried it ten minutes ago, with skoda fabia VDO 2004 and A3 1999 VDO can not connect.
If I open the dump of the same dashboard readed by a programmer work fine.
I used usb interface.

1st of all, dash is on table so if game over put back backup :D, so no worries.
In RB4 section you have read/write encrypted, read/write decrypted (need 04 mode).
I never succeed to write decrypted dump after read.
Always stuck with def/error on dash.
But if i use write encrypted eeprom is OK.
That i say 1st time make a read encrypted (backup).

No need just uninstall original and install blackpirate's vag.exe then find the program in C:\Program Files\VAG EEPROM Programmer by BP\VAG.exe (and add shortcut to desktop if you want)

Working with those interfaces 100%:
1. Cable compatible with VCDS 10.6.4 and 11.2 (copy right RT-USB.dll from VCDS programm to VAG EEprom directory),
2. K+Can Commander 1.4.

There is a problem with read/write airbags eeprom in this 1.19g version. If you want to read/write airbags just use 1.18 (tested on the table - 100% working - k-line and can connetctions).
Ecu eeprom not working.
Instrument clusters without problem.
Fault codes without problem also.

1. Connect KKL USB cable to Car and PC
2. Run Vag Eeprom Programmer 1.19
3. In Options select USB
4. Select Dash -> Bosch -> Audi A4 (Encrypted) -> Read Eeprom (Encrypted)
5. File -> Save AS (encrypted backup file)
6. Select Dash -> Bosch -> Audi A4 (Encrypted) -> Set Newmode
7. Select Dash -> Bosch -> Audi A4 (Encrypted) -> Read Eeprom (Decrypted) - inthis step we see full info and Immobilizer PIN
8. File -> Save AS (Decrypted backup file)

Yes you are right . There is no difference in the possibilities of Vag commander 1.4 and 2.5. As I used 1.4, sometimes my laptop reported a bug. Using 2.5, I did not notice it.

For reading and writing eeprom file use vag commander or vag eeprom programmer, but for needle sweep I think you'd better use Dash Dump Edit.

Write what car, year of production and what controller you want to connect with.

With the vag eepromprogrammer 1.19g, you can read eprom, pin immo and change the odometer in the VDO cluster.(to 2004my) I have never been able to connect with the ECU motor. I Connected with the airbag controller in the VW Passat B5 2000 my 6Q ..... I also managed to erase the errors in ABS. If you can not connect via USB, try using COM PORT on which your VAG KKL is. But only comport 1 or 2.

Actually, I do not really understand what cable you have VCDS HEX + CAN or VAG K CAN COMMANDER 1.4 / 2.5 / 3.6.

-vag eepromprogrammer 1.19g works with VAG KKL device and vag k commander device.
-vag k can commander 1.4 / 2.5 / 3.6 with dedicated device vag k can commander (and vag kkl 1.4/2.5).
-VCDS Hex+Can- only VCDS Software

If you have an Audi A3 from 2001 with 1.9 tdi engine then you have immo III. Pin immo is the same in instrument cluster and ECM EDC 15. Pin immo can be read using the VAG KKL interface or the vag k can commander interface. The VCDS interface does not read the pin immo .

This program reads Eprom and pin code from the instrument cluster. Works with vag kkl cable. If you can read the pin immo, you can program keys using vcds lite 1.2 or vcds hex can. I did it only with VDO instruments not RB 4.

VAG Eeprom programmer 1.19g refused to communicate with cluster board... Cable, Windows or something else? I don't know.
But! K+CAN VAG COMMANDER 2.5 managed to work!


I needed that for SKC pin reading for mine VW Golf MK4 12/2002. since I lost that plastic key with code on it.


Mine setup was:
- Win 10, 64 bit
- VCDS USB cable Dual-K + Can
- VCDS Release 20.4.1
- K+CAN VAG COMMANDER 2.5 (from post #75)


I did followed instruction of this guy here: https://sites.google.com/site/imnuts/ Any newb should read them...


Although his instructions are more or less clear they are not holly Bible and they did not worked and will not work if you don't take proper procedure.


Proper steps:
Step 1:
- If you already have installed VCDS with above mentioned cables you must go to Device Manager/ Universal Serial Bus controllers from here detect your VCDS USB cable... In mine case this cable was listed as "USB Serial converter"
- Right click of the mouse on USB Serial converter(or however is called on your CPU)/ Properties/Advanced/now check box Load VCP/ OK/ and now nothing happens... Why? After mentioned you must unplug your VCDS cable and then plug it back again and what will you get? Well:
While you are still in Device Manager new Ports (COM&LPT) icon will appear! Click it... Beneath USB Serial Port (COM4) icon appeared... If you had similar situation or lets say (COM3) icon appeared change that to (COM1) How?:
- Right click of the mouse on mentioned USB Serial Port (COM4) icon/ Properties/ Port Settings/ Advanced/ Com Port Number/ change to COM1!/ OK

Step 2:
Now that is done we got to have VCDS cable prepared for following thing:
- Go into VCDS/Options/ uncheck Boot in Intelligent mode/ Test/ Save/ It is Done! /exit from VCDS. VCDS USB cable Dual-K + Can is prepared for K+Can Vag Commander!

Step 3:
So what to do now? Download Vag Commander from post #75. I hope you guy know that antivirus program must be disabled before any kind of VAG software installation becaouse it will recognize it as a virus! So before installing any VAG software disable your antivirus/ extract downloaded VAG COMMANDER to desired folder/ Make exception list of folders with VAG software in your antivirus program... If you don't know how to do this uninstall darn thing! This will do more damage than good!

Step 4:
Now you are ready... Double click VWTester icon/ Connection type/ choose K-Line/ now go to... Identification tab and click it/ If that tab identifies your VW vehicle than you are good to go... Otherwise abort and double check steps.../ go to Engine Control Unit tab/ Read EEPROM/ Wait.../ DONE/ on the right side you will have/ Login code up to 4 digits. If you have for digit code like myself add 0(zero) in front of that and you'll have your 5 digit SKC code.


So why VAG Eeprom programmer 1.19g failed? I don't know I ordered blue KKL VAG COM 409.1 FTDI FT232RL cable to give program a second chance...
Otherwise I give my hand of that one...

I have two interfaces for this. One is Vag KKL and the other is Vag k can commander. Both work with these SW. I tried to get vcds hex-can to work with these SW but failed.
Wait for your blue vag kkl or try another WIN system. I checked the cables and SW on WIN XP, WIN 7 (32/64) WIN 8.1 64bit. I don't know if this will work on WIN 10.
If your VW Golf IV has immo 3 then the same pin is also in the engine controller. So you can use vag k can commander.

I did retrieve pin from MKIV ECU on newest and freshly updated Windows 10 64bit, with VCDS USB cable Dual-K + Can & with your VAG Commander 2.5 software with above described procedure.
At first it did not want to work. But then I figured out what is happening... So anyone with VCDS cable (Dual-K + Can) should do it if they follow procedure...


I got to mention after ECU pin retrieval with VAG Commander, VCDS autoscan will "spit" a lot of errors regarding ECU communication. So guys after you retrieved the pin with Vag Commander go to VCDS/Autoscan/ Clear DTC/ and that is done...




But I would really like to try VAG Eeprom programmer 1.19 way of reading from Cluster Board.

Is there any way to use this software on new cars like Passat B8 2015-2019? This is my second car and I would also like to make few spare keyless keys...

This software will not support newer cars such as VW passat B6, B7 or B8. Communication with controllers is on "CAN" or UDS not "K line". And there is no IMMO pin in the instruments cluster anymore.

So I have this Audi A4 2003 with Bosch cluster that went bad, I managed to read the 24CZ8 eeprom (dump file attached) but cant get the cluster pin to register new keys in another used cluster that I got from ebay. I have the ECU main code of the car, but can't get the cluster pin.. always give me error. Can someone get the pin from that file and give me a little help on how to program the keys on the new used cluster?
I managed to change from miles to km but cant register the keys, the car turns on but the blinkers wont go way.. Thanks a lot!

It is RB4, first set newmode, second read decrypted and you get you pin, third set to adapted.

i own a Audi A3 8p MJY 2007 with a MED9.1 ECU which supports CAN and K-Line
what interface do i have to use in order to get login and eeprom dump ??

I have Vag Dash Can 5.29. It can read the Audi A3 immo pin, but only up to the 2005 model year. It is also possible to read the immo pin from MED9 (9.5), Med 7, EDC 15 and EDC 16.
I don't know if it can handle MED 9.1. (I have not tried on an Audi A3)

If not than what type of software should I looking for ? In my previous vehicle I have manage to sort this out by using commander but that were on golf mk4-long time ago . When I try to get anythihg as comander I couldnt find anything on ebay which will state that this software will work on transportet t5.1 ( reg from 2010-2015). Any chances to help me out please?? :distress:

Thanks mate for some answers. I have try to find something even I have search on this forum but it isnt easy to get right answer. Anyway I couldnt find anything on ebay called AVDI and other VVDI I have found 2nd hand for over 400 pounds. Do you know if I can found something in similar price range as commander or not over 100 pounds??
