Is the only difference between the two boxes above the 2nd HD tuner in the 9000 or does the 5000 lack other features available with the 9000 model?:top:

There are a few things different between the ET9000 and the ET5000.
look here for the specs of the et9000
http://et-view.com/download/Xtrend_et9000/Specs/please note some more dubious retailers are selling the et9100 for ?40 more than the et9000 but they are the exact same receiver just re-badged by clarke-tech
( xtrend are the original makers of all these boxes clarke-tech just buy and re-badge them )
and here i'll upload the specs sheet for the et5000

OK I am deciding which one of these boxes to get! I want to watch sat in HD and then use a USB HD terrestrial tuner to watch Irish saorview (freeview in Ireland) on the box. Can you confirm if this is possible?

I have bought a Clark Tech ET9000 and it is superb!!!!! Picture quality on HD and SD is brilliant and the support for the plugins, extras and software up to now has been good.
This reciever will surely take over from the VU soon as it has better specs...
I can't answer about the Terestrial USB thing as I dont have one to try.

yes you can use a terrestrial dongle but support is hit and miss and not all dongles will work due to poor driver support.

yes a few of my Irish friends have conformed that these work well with the Duo and other Vu receivers so it should work with the ET range too.
