Okay pal, where do you need to start here? First job, pick an image. I personally use the newnigma2 one. There is a thread about in sticky's I think with the images. Choose one, then we will go through flashing it with you.. take it slow and you will be up and running in no time.
When you say you `cant get it to function' what do you mean?

What do you mean by this? You don't need to load anything on PC except use a web browser

If you got it from a supplier with CCcam already installed are you saying you bought it in a supposedly working state?
If so then do not factory reset it.

Start with: Do any channels work, BBC, ITV etc

all fta channels work on 28e problem is i cannot find where the cccam.cfg stored i cannot find it in DM edit

Okay mate, do you have dcc up and running? Cccam.cfg is in the etc/ directory..
dm edit is not for that job. Download dcc from here and run that, then you can find and edit your cccam.cfg file..

Do you know how to telnet?
If so telnet into the box and search for it, for sure it should be in /etc/ or maybe /var/etc/
Presumably you have the box connected to your network, do you know it's IP?
If it is connected to your network and the network settings in the setup work ok when you test them then you can install a plugin to display what CCcam is doing on the TV without having to go in the ethernet.
If you know the IP of the dreambox put it into a browser, do you get the web interface, if so then put "ip":/16001 in the URL bar of your browser, if CCcam is running then this will give you the status of it. (IP is the IP of the dreambox)

Your box is hooked upto your network right? Goto menu, setup, system, network and run a network test to make sure everything is running there..

hi
when i put "ip":/16001 it takes me to cccam via google
if you search for " "ip":/16001 " it will take you to google , the ip bit needs to be your dreambox ip address not "ip" lol
it should look somethin like this "192.168.1.99:/16001"
also it needs typing into address bar (highest bar in browser) and not a search bar

Well we know now that your cccam is running at least. You need to get that program running, or dcc so you can get into your cccam.cfg file.

You can now look in the "servers" tab of the config page and see if your server is connecting or indeed if you have a server at all.

Hi
Everyone has been very helpful thanks. I still have not found anyone who lives Nr Stafford. I would love to find someone who lives Nr Stafford and give me a home tutorial. I would also be willing to travel with my DM for a tutorial and help set up it.
Best Regard
Very lost :beheaded:

You do not need to have personal tuition and I doubt that anyone here will do it, you can solve it here.
This is a forum, it helps people with problems and leaves a record of that solution for other people that have problems.
You need to try the things that are outlined here and report back, the problem will thus be defined and solved.

(assuming your network is working and your dreambox is recieving a DHCP lease)
Just download a simple ftp program called flashfxp free download to your PC, i used this when i first started..a bit like you hey!!..install that, get your I.P of your dreambox and put the I.P and username and password into the FTP program its really easy, when you have installed flashfxp goto> session> quick connect>address or url tab (input your I.P in here should be similar to this but is only an example (192.168.xx.xx)
username root
password dreambox
click connect
if succesful you should have a directory tree in the right hand pain of the program..if you get this far report back and we will talk you through the rest
cheers

That guide I sent u has info in regarding what to enter. However the subject can't be discussed here. You need to "obtain " a c-line, maybe Google will put you straight

he aint got no info in there by the sounds of it..i dont think he even knows where the file is never mind putting any content in their...this is going to be a long drawn out saga.
I would start all over again and flash new image on, I did read that you could not flash another image can you give us more detail as to why or what happens or what is shown in small oled screen on box when you try to flash an image.
Bear in mind you will loose all cfg info so write it down ;)

The problem was he didn't have a config in. Sent him blank one and info how FTP it but he struggled to save it from email attachment .
Markus. My advice would be to backup when you manage to get it going, then setup USB, then backup. Then sort out epg an backup an so on so on, also read this forum often when you haven't got a problem, that's how we all learn, none of us went to dreambox school, we just read here, play with it an learn, safe in the knowledge we can roll back to last good backup!
Good luck mate
