You can do it without a problem you need to do all the things that says ouer partners like first work without switch. Press the trip button when the tacho says should be appear the old value, when the tacho returns to the menu take out the fuse that is located in box of fuses, usually the value is 7.5 amps, and it's located in the third line, I will try to get a picture when i arrives to my work, good look!!!
Sorry for my bad english!!!

you can do it with TU via obd only if the tu reads the real km....if shows the real km then press the km you want and when programming keep pressed the trip button until tu return to the first menu(about 30 seconds)..then take out the lead for one minute............
second solution.......if the tu dont shows the real km then take out the dash and with 912 cable you can do it easily.....

2 red cables to +
1 black cable to -
green cable to k line
and same procedure as above with trip button!

No matter what way i try with lead number 27 this will not read the old mileage so i cannot then adjust it , ive tried whats been said but its not working unless of course im using the wrong lead but its not lead 16 as thats totally differant.

this car is a 2 minute job, i can do it in my sleep

you HAVE been helped, even by me.

theres no need to cry no 1 here has "abused" you, the solution is in front of your face, the only thing left is for some1 else to do it for you

how can it be a 2 minute job ? are not reading the thread ? people are saying this can be done by obd yet its not picking the original mileage up so why is thaT ? am i using the wrong number lead or something ? it says lead 27 yet i cannot get it to work is there another lead to use then ive done about 20 cars this way and never had problems like this one before normally they read existing mileage ? a little help would be appreciated have not tried the other way yet crossing wores etc thats the next staghe as ive been told by several people it will work this way by obd yet im getting nothing.

to answer ur question

cable 27 is the right cable

if you cant read the mileage, get a torx 20 screwdriver

srtip out bottom panel, then top panel, then the speedo

use the 912 cable as directed, job done

its gta be the red one that gives 12v

its gta be the red one that gives 12v
so i have to power the tacho seperate then and not by obd ? sorry if i sound dull but ive only ever done by obd never really messed with other bits and pieces this does look straight forward enough though it says connect two red cables to 12volt have they both got to have 12 volts coming through them or just the one ?

z786
2nd November, 2011, 07:27 PM
lol lol

sorry i cant help myself, all red wires on that cable giv 12v

lol lol

sorry i cant help myself, all red wires on that cable giv 12v
then why tell me the red cable with 12 volts ? if they all have 12 volts ? you have obviously been doing this a long time i am new to it im a mobile mechanic who also does diagnostics so thats where most of my money comes from this is all new to me but im having a go dispite people telling me not to, i want to learn but find it very hard to get people to give advice most of the time i manage as i have instructions but could not find any for this apart from removing a fuse after i have done the change will do it tomorrow now hopefully will be ok.

Also the button I need to press ? We are talking about the one on the dash clocks ? That zeros the miles

Yes. It will work by obd if you press and hold that button.

But it's not working by obd it's not doing anything by obd that's why I've discussed this as it's not working by obd

smokey08

Maybe your obd cable is bad. Power you TU with the cigarette lighter lead and use the 912 cable. Put the green wire in pin 12 and try again with the same method of pressing the button on the dash.

You've wasted 2 days on this p!ss easy car and still no result lol...is it really worthy it for a few quid ?? You have a go at others who you think are not helping you, yet the only other thing we can do is to actually do the job for u. As for your comment about helping others...if you look at your posts, 98% are asking for help!!!
I'd change hobbies if I were u. You cant even be bothered to thank the members who have helped you. I, along with others, are fed up of all the leachers on here who want everything yet contribute ~~~~ all back.

Yeah what ever mate you just pissed at me as I now give most of my mileage jobs to someone else and guess what he unlike you does return me money ! And it's not to earn a few quid it's for a friend a freebie I must have given you 10 jobs over the last year that i know you have done and you did not return me anything yet I've spoken to people who you did jobs for from my recommendations that's what this comment is really about ps thanks to everyone that's helped me so far .

Your way out of your depth with mileage jobs, best left to someone who has the correct knowledge and equipment to do the job.
This job is the diagnostic equivelant of finding the bonnet catch

Absolutely wrong mate. If you look at some of my other posts you will will notice that I have expressed my opinion to other leechers aswell. I really dont care if you have given me 10 jobs in the last year or not lol I've earnt more than that in the last 30mins on stocks and shares and now i'm about to goto my first job (out of 4 for today) Most weeks I comfortably do 10 jobs within 2 days and the members on here who know me will confirm this ;) And as for rewarding you with money you are correct - I did'nt ! But as I told you before I have recommended your mobile mechanical services to a number of people as I really don't want to be getting my hands dirty for peanuts. Monkeys like peanuts.

Have a nice day

All done thanks to all that helped ! Must have been a dodgy lead as I tried one more time and it worked first go ! And as for above posts you have to start somewhere everyone has to as for loolys post we had a deal I advertise on my website for mileage correction and jobs I won't do I pass to you we agreed ? 15.00 per job which is indeed peanuts yet you never even gave me 1 nut ! Dispute over 25 jobs and a known 10 done if not more I earn at least ?100 a week from my new guy and he unlike you pays works both ways mate , not just one. Thanks again for all info hope it helps others
