Yes, having security bytes if talking about the Flash and presuming that gadroulll knew what they are on this MCU as he needs flash writing. But this is not of that concern. see this thread

Dont waste your time.
ETL is your solution.
Upa and xprog cant write the flash dump.

this is a reason for that but if i know the security bytes normally must works

Is the dump in post #9 read by UPA 'all memory'? If read correctly I can see the EEPROM blocks (block1 & block2) has some problem. I will help you to analyse, please also post the dump of the donor too to see how many blocks used. the receiver MCU 2J74Y? sec. bytes of this dump are all '00'

UPA almost not support Flash programming with two cases exception, hc908as60 and hc908az60. that's why the 'Erase Flash' button not active. but never try that UPA flash programming on these two work properly.

i can write to eeprom 1 adress 800-9ff
i can not write to eeprom 2 600-7ff
i try to write only fe00 registers and i can not do it.

so the processor is locked in flash and to eeprom 2 .for this reason i can not write to it .

No one and no any tool can unlock the EEPROM of HC908 (EENVR) once locked. But I know the one can do but he will never share!

Anyone knows a good source for HC08 4J74Y or 2J74Y mcus besides that chinese craps?

I confirm that new china 4J74Y mcu has problem. Eprom can be READ/ WRITE ,,, FLASH only READ.... not WRITE no matter what tool i try !
