aftermath

was having a chat in the chatbox with Chelseabun, GMB, and Mik about accents. I thought it be a good thread to start.
my favorite accent has to be the Irish
although i like Scottish, Welsh, Scouse, Geordie.
I dont like the Cockney accent, and American accent for some reason.

Well where ever ive been
Lasses seem to love a Geordie so puts me in gud sted,
but for me Irish, scouse just something dirty about it every word sounds filthy well when coming from a lass it does, French they know how to swear classy same as Italians and of course Geordie agree with above hate cockneys and Americans although red necks do sound funny

Some of these categories are too broad. Descriptions like Geordie, Brummie, Cockney and Scouse are ok, but there are wide variations in Scottish and Irish accents.
Fife and Inverness, for example, are totally different.
I love an accent from the West Coast of Ireland, but the Ulster accent (sorry Jaffa), can be hard on the ear.

I like the south wales accent, especially spoken by a female.
Just like in Britain the are many American accents, I don't like the deep southern American accents, but the mid-west around Chicago are ok, I don't like the New York accent ether, but further north in Maine they are ok.
The worst accent I think is Cockney.

You can trust a scouser with your life. We stick together and look after our own and our friends. Ask anyone who knows a scouser how trustworthy we are :)
