Came across a image like that myself for the life of me cant remember what one though.
Give what I said a try mate. If that dont work I suggest changing image as there's nothing worse it messes with EPG times and is just a pain.

I can set the time/time zone alright it is just when i put the box instandby then turn it on again the time displayed is the time i put it in standby thus knocks out the epg and recordings.
I think its something to do with cross.epg gonna try uninstalling it to see if that is the problem.

In all honesty mate I dont see how crossepg would effect the time.
I would try another image, if you like that image if possible try another version of it.

How new are the receivers? Were did you purchase from and is it the new rev?

I have tried about 10 different images, all suffer from the same problem. The time seems to slow down in standby, and I end up with a clock many hours behind.
I am using a DM800SE clone.

Very odd so were have use purchased these from and is it the new rev se clone with usb port at front?
jmjc0112
14th November, 2011, 11:44 AM
Not sure what version it is but it doesn't have a front usb.
Uninstalled crossepg last night. And will check when I get in from work to see if it has sorted the problem.

have you tried 82 , 84 , 84a images , maybe if you load a latest 84a image it will upgrade bootloader and possibly fix the issue
personally i use the 84a image from here image http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f39/poll-_-best-image-dm800se-sim210-229690/index14.html

Mine is from UK dreamshop, and does not have the USB on the front. I upgraded the 2nd stage bootloader to 84a, and have been using Nemesis 2.4 lately. It is strange how the clocks slows down??
garry1312
14th November, 2011, 01:22 PM
Very odd I dont have this issue had my SE for a wee bit now.
I did have a issue with the clock on 1 image cant remember which one and think alom did to so that instance would have been a image issue.
Have you contacted the seller?
So it is not that it is on another timezone i.e. a hour out, its actually slowing down?

there is a plugin called "ntpupdate manager"
this will resolve your wrong time issue , not sure if its available on tspanel , if not , you can grab it here
enigma2-plugin-extensions-ntpupdatemanager_1.0.2_mipsel.ipk (http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/board/index.php?page=Attachment&attachmentID=2638&h=93cc5d2d78bb73afc9d1ffadf81774c1c9be2dd0&91e5c38b) (3.37 kB)
------------------------------------------------------
2nd method is
you can add in /etc/enigma2/settings :
" config.misc.useTransponderTime=True "
this will grab and sync time from satellite feed
-------------------------------------------------------
let us know if either method works , as others can then see here for info to resolve the same issue , thanks

Mine was also from ukdreamshop. I'll try adding config.misc.useTransponderTime=True and see what happens.
Interestingly, i watched the clock for a bit in the last hour and it was running at the right speed and then it jumped back about 20 minutes.
This morning before I went out to work I unplugged the network and sat cables to rule out outside influences and it still went wrong.

hi guys - having the same problem - clock losing time. Am on my second box and have made arrangements to swop for a third, from a new delivery, believing it to be a hardware problem with the suppliers last batch. Both cloned 800se came with the all russian image installed, first one i replaced with the openpli image and the clock still lost time, second box was flashed with newnigma and i still have the problem. Played around in all three images with settings but no joy. Sometimes when flipping channels the time on the info bar will jump back 10 / 20 sometimes 30 seconds. Hope this makes sense.

Spoke to soon. put box in deep sleep at half time in footy 20.50 and restarted it for the secind half and time showed 20.50 i then update crossepg at 20.54 show on the box and when it finnished updating the time reverted back to to 20.50 wtf.
Gonna revert back to previos image sat4fun newenigma2 when i get time to re-flash and try the file southpaw suggested as the image seems alot more user freindly for a novice like myself.

Even if there is a fix around it if its faulty in anyway I know I would rather have it replaced than doing a fix myself.

i have had the clock not keeping time on standby
but as soon as turned on it corrects to the true time
i have also found the tuner fails on 10.729 freq on 19e
and some hd chns on 28e. also the light on the tuner shows yellow
and with a new tuner fitted it now has a green light and it finds all
the chns and frequencies sd and hd before buying a new tuner i tried a
dm800 rev J tuner and that found the frequencies , thats why i got the
new bcm tuner

Update
I reflashed back to newenigma2 SAT4FUN yesterday and only put ccams on and SGT bouquets.
It still looses time in standby but when powered up goes to the right time within a few seconds.
Have just put crossepg on and will update tommorow if time is ok. If all is well i think i will stick to this image (if it aint broke dont try and fix it).

update for u - now on my third clone, swopped it this afternoon (glad i decided to pay a bit extra and buy it local)
as i suspected, after playing around with different images, see earlier post, it must be a hardware problem.
fired it up around 6.30 and it hasn't missed a second.
jmjc0112
19th November, 2011, 10:41 AM
OK the time doesnt update in standby for eg if i put it in standby at 11.00 it stops at that time however it does revert to the right time when switched on.
The only tuner problem i have is with sly sports 2 it freezes every 30secs or so but have changed it to another freq and is ok now.
Should i return it for a exchange?

the time slowing down is an issue that happens if you do a number of restarts in a short space of time....throws it off somehow.. ie...restart after you install a plugin and again after another etc.
easiest way to sort this is to just install all the pplugins and do one restart. also another ways is to totally power off the box for 20 mins or so.... then start up again.. and the problem should be sorted.

Got mine sorted.
Installed GP2 DVB Time plugin. Once setup, syncs to an NTP server on the internet while in Standby.

I'm back - after having my third box for a couple of hours and the time behaving itself i flashed it with the newnigma image and the problem returned.
the box came with the allrussian image ssl82, so all was updated.
having been busy this week i've not had time to play so today spoke to the guy i got it from and he's asked if i can flash it back to the original image to see what happens - newbie question - can i, not sure if i'm going to cause myself more grief with 'back' flashing.

Hi
I have a DM 800 SE Clone with sim 2.10 and have the same problem with the clock. Tryed all suggestions here and nothing works. So as a last desperat test did i delete all CrossEPG files in /media/hdd/Crossepeg folder and to my suprise the clock works fine :)
To test if CrossEPG is the problem i Flashed my DM again with several Images like Newnigma, Dream-Elite 2.1 Blackhole and Peter Pan. Everytime the clock did not work the final sulition
eas to delete the CrossEPG files where they are saved
and reboot.
Dont now why or how CrossEPG ****s up the clock but in my case the problem was solved this way.

i have tried most of the images and tried all
suggestions from other users and still the clock
looses time on standby but when turned on finds
the correct time in seconds, the box is first class
in all other ways,i have seen elsewhere the ferrari sim
users have this problem as well, is it a fault on the board
or anouther thought has the oled got a fault causing the problem
i think if anyone has a genuine se model testing the clone front panel
on it to see if it holds the time in standby to rule the oled out
but to save it getting at me i have turned the time off for standby
in the dispay settings untill i find out where the fault is then when
turned on it shows the correct time and chn and as i have a dm500 hd
box without a screen so i dont miss or need a time showing on standby

if they have i would like info on how it's done
the box i have runs first class and works very fast
on chn changes, crystal clear pic's and sound etc:
i have the clock set off when on standby, once
turned on it sets to the correct time in seconds
plus i have tried a ferrari sim as well as the sim 2.10
but this is just the same the only thing iv'e not tried
is changing the oled screen to see if that has a circuit fault
but i think it's a hardware fault as so many on lots of forums
have reported the same fault , and for me it spoils the box
and i'm seriously thinking of sticking it on the bay with both
both sim cards and what the fault is, i'm sure it will get at least
a 100 for it. and on the basis of this i would advise everyone to
go for the tried and tested dm800 over the se everytime

Benny the clock issue appeared to be a batch that went out with this issue. Return it if possible.
The same could happen with a 800 batch. I would say hands down that the SE is a much more superior receiver to the 800 Pro.

I got mine fixed by installing the GP2 DVB Time plugin, and disabling the transponder time.
As much as I can remember and figure out from my settings, i did the following:
1. Extract the attached.
2. FTP the plugin to /tmp
3. In one of my Dreambox menu's, I had option to install plugin from tmp directory so i used that. You may have to find out how to do this on your image.
4. Restart dreambox.
5. FTP to /etc
6. Edit or create "ntp.conf"
7. I added a line at the top "SERVER time.windows.com" (i guess you can use your other favourite NTP server!)
8. On Dreambox under Main Menu, System Settings find "GP2 DVB Time Settings"
9. Use these settings:
Show NTP message on startup : off
NTP-Server autostart : on
DVB Time check autostart: off
Engima 2 Timeupdate : off
10: restart

same here mate iv'e tried everything from images ,script added
to the e2 settings etc and the one i have is the same, it has to
be a fault on the box mainboard but i cant see anything that looks

so i dont think it can be sent back but if you have not opened yours
and you got the box recently then try contacting the shop/supplier

I have this problem but have hacked my way out of it.
For me the time was getting messed up when in stand-by or when channels were changed.
I have set up a cron job that runs every minute (or specifically when the time changes from 59 to 00 seconds) and syncs the time with my linux server.
It's far from ideal, but the box itself is perfect in every other way for me.

just to add to this info i have just had a pm from
a member elsewhere who tried this fix for the clock
and found to get it to work he had to load the GP2DVBTime plugin
from the ts panel and then added the ntp conf file re booted and then
from the ts panel uninstall he removed the GP2DVBTime plugin and re booted again
and now his settings are set like mine and his clock keeping time on standby
it did'nt work with the GP2DVBTime plugin loaded on his box,

Used your settings and did as you suggested above and the box is now keeping the correct time. Thanks a million. I will try and put a backup image with all the settings in the download section.

try this way
i had this clock problem for a long time
and found this works and the clock keeps time on standby
first class now. first load the npt conf file i added in a earlier post
in this thread, then load everything this way
using the dcc> ftp> double left click> etc folder
then double left click> enigma2 folder then send
the npt conf file in the enigma2 folder,
then from the ts panel sim2 addons>ok pluggins>ok
load the dvbtime_03_r0_02.10.2010 pluggin then set the clock
from the tspanel system tools>ok time-date changer to the correct setting
and re boot now if you look in the box menu you should see the gp2 dvb time settings with the ntp-server autostart: on and the clock should keep time

Mine is version 1. Had problems with it before but for the last few weeks since the ntp stuff all working. :)
I don't know anything about the front processor or what it is...but all my boxes seem to be version 1. Is that something to do with image?

this dm800se is the first clone iv'e ever had
and i got it to test again'st the genuine model
for quality etc: and both boxes show the same
Front_Processor_Version 3 and the genuine does'nt have
any time problems with any image. plus i have merlin 3
on both boxes so unless images change the processor version
i cant see that having any bearing on the time problem
i think i will try the clone on a different image and i also got
a ferrari sim with this box so i will test there image as well

How are you finding the testing going Benny regards quality between the clone and original?

*****************************************
the quality is as good on the clone as the original
for picture sound menus remote etc, i have had a few problems
with some clone images green screen etc, the box case
is a bit more flimsy and not as good finish as the original
and i have read reports that a few have damaged the service port
when using the a/b mini usb cable but that could be heavy handed users
but generally at the price a fair buy, i want to test a clone vu+duo
i keep reading these are even better than a dreambox and use original
images

Hi, was just wanting to clear that as i have had 3 boxes dm800se all latest rev d6 front usb, the ones that had time issue was the Front_Processor_Version_3 and the one that had no issues was Front_Processor_Version_1
so wanted to clear that, i did install dvb timer from tspanel which sorted problem out on the ones that gave time issues,
so what do you guyz think is causing this ??
Thanks

Well, I just got this box from madeinchina.com and it is working exelent besides the time problem. I have Peterpan image on it since I use it in Norway. It would be nice to get this fixed without returning it to china as that is rather expensive...anyone has tips or workarounds?

I also have the time problem.
I will try the given solutions #14 and #60
Hopefully it will work.
I also happen to have the frontprocessor 3.
So it reallly seems to be a bad batch.
If the given solutions wont work, i'll try to return the box and get one with a frontprocessor 1 in replace.

i have had this problem on standby for a long time
and iv'e spent days at it testing and trying everything
and anything, but today iv'e had everything working for
hours by using the SERVER time.windows.com and adding a
couple of lines of script in the settings folder using the
latest sim 2.10 merlin3 image i will add a folder if anyone
wants to make a test and see if it works for them all the info
is in the doc with the file
This the best solution I have tested with nemises image working
Thank for this

I had Nemesis 2.5 image, and just adding this config.misc.useTransponderTime=false line to enigma2 settings did the trick, did work fine. Now I accidentally updated image to Nemesis 2.6, and it doesn't work any more. Problem is, I can still add the line, but after restart the line is gone. Did all the saves and everything. I don't know what's the problem now, still keep trying. This npk + DVB time combo seems to not work to me. So, still searching answers.

Looks like, that I got this problem solved for now. I changed this TransponderTime setting from =false to =True, and now it seems to be working. So install this GP2 DVB time plugin and npk config file an try it out. At the moment it works fo me.

i'm faced with the same problems...checked with supplier and was informed that it was a hardware failure...problem was i had a hdd installed in the box which was only able to record shows for about 70 minutes before the box hung up and freezes. but the moment i removed my internal hdd, clock would be operating as per normal. Puzzled as to how the hdd affects the clock settings..

Sorry for replying to this old thread, but I have same problem.
I tried everything, but it is not working. :(
DVB Time plugin - nothing, I tried all setting. NTP and Force DVB time solution => not working
Which is interesting too: I am unable to set manually time from ssh with date command. It just not change.
Is there any other way to resolve this issue?
I installed latest Newnigma2
800SE clone
