here is pinout for connector Ford old diagnostic connector pinout and wiring @ pinoutsguide.com (http://pinoutsguide.com/CarElectronics/ford_old_6pin_pinout.shtml)

3 is k-line, 2 is L-line
there is no +12v pin in connector in order to power uniscan interface (the separated seventh pin is supposed to be ground), read *** some lines below
please check with a multimeter if separated pin is gnd and look for a +12v pin in connector (check if that pin is always +12v both with key ignition off and on, and then with engine started if it is +14v approx.)

http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/5116/clipboard02jp.jpg

this is pinout for ford in uniscan interface, k-line is k-in only, l-line are L-in plus L-out connected together. http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/9474/kabelga.jpg

remember this is schematic, k-in is pin6, l-in is pin9, l-out is pin4. ***as there is not +12v and ground in car connector, you must power interface connecting pin1 to battery+ and pin5 to battery-
http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/1596/shemap.jpg

this is self diagnostic
http://www.automotivetroubleshootingsecrets.com/ford%20obd1%20coder%20copy.jpg

there is pre-obd to obd2 adapter on ebay
if someone got one, maybe he can report pinout of every pin with a multimeter to find out which pins in pre-obd connector are connected to obd2 connector pin16 +12v and pin4+5 ground

according to uniscan coverage file, it can only give faults with your car, no live data nor adjustments nor actuators, so self-test is enough
but it would be cool if you try with uniscan and upload some captures

IMHO this cable isn't usefull, because ford connector do not have +12v. so You need to take it somewhere else, but how to connect it to uniscan? so, on the yellow picture pin2 is ground, pin 4 is k-line (don't forget to disconnect k-line out from uniscan! need only connect k-line-in th this pin), and separate "self test input" - is L-line. but uniscan and ford... You can just conunt blink-codes...

H? , with FORD car

When I switch ( L-line + L-out ) has an problem , led yellow blink, but message in Uniscan is ( wiring problem ).

I connected K- line to pin 4 ( STO )
I connected L- line to pin ( self-test input ) STI

I checked with a multimeter and the pin ( STI ) have 5 volts , is not 12v.
L- line of Uniscan has 12v , some problema ?

Any idea for this problem ?
Thanks.

in the yellow picture, l-line is pin5, not sti
can you check with multimeter all pins in car connector?

H? manocao , I checked again , connector of my car is :

pin 1 - not used
pin 2 - earth
pin 3 - not used
pin 4 - STO ( has 12 volt )
pin 5 - STI ( has 5 volt )
pin 6 - fuel pump monitor ( has 12v ).

I have a problem in interface Uniscan , When I switch ( L-line in + L line-out ) an error occurs, message is ( wiring problem )
How to I check voltage in L-line in , and L-line out from Uniscan ?
any idea ?
Thanks.

no idea,
in uniscan only exist picture of this kind of ford car connector

maybe your car is not supported
try without l-line, with k-line only

Ok mate, Thanks for the help.
I checked with self-test light and run ( flash codes ), I switch L line ( STO ) to ground and STI is blinking !!!!!
But Uniscan not works with flash codes.

Now, how to I check voltage L-line in + switch with L-line out from Uniscan ?
Can you checked voltage ?
My interface is 12v in the line out and l line in .
thanks.

H? manocao , I have an question about shematic diagram of interface Uniscan :

R15 is 510R = change to 2K2
R16 is 510R = change to 2K2
R8 is 5K1 = change to 10K
R10 is 5K1 = change to 10K

Is correct ?
This change is written in the manual of Uniscan.

it is correct, uniscan works at 12v, both k and L
did you try only with k-line?, maybe ecu doesnt need l-line to be waked-up

H? Manocao , I need your help , please
UNISCAN-VISA 1.83 is very good for me, but not works with ford cars, yet .

Ford cars, when I switch L-line + L-out Uniscan stop, ( error message ) not works, any idea for this problem ?

My RS-232 com-port is :

COM 1 ( 9600 baud , 8, N, 1, wardware ) 03F8-03FF irq 04
COM 2 ( 9600 baud , 8, N , 1, wardware ) 02F8-02FF irq 03

which configuration is better ?
any suggestion ?

Many thanks.

i dont know where the mistake is
maybe your car connector is not supported by uniscan (5v L-line vs 12v L-line)
no pictures of your connector in visa 1.83
try also COM2 irq 7
if unsuccessful, forget about it, get blinking codes...
you might damage the ecu when applying 12v instead of 5v in L-line
