can a dm500c be changed to a 500t

I think all that's different is the tuner. Theoretically you could desolder the tuner and put in a dvb-t tuner.

The DM500T are hard enough to come by never mind the tuner on it's own.

I think your best bet is to buy the complete box. You'll be able to sell your DM500C on ebay no probs.

you will also need to change the bootloader as cable and terrestrial ones are different.
