Have written a Nintendo Wii 4.3 Softmodding Guide based on a process I used to softmod a few Wii's belonging to friends and family.
The guide is a mixture of a few guides over the internet but written in my own words.
The idea was to make it as easy a possible to follow.
The guide takes you through the following:
- Installing the Homebrew Channel
- Backing up your Wii's NAND Drive
- Softmodding your Wii
- Installing Priiloader
Softmodding Guide - How to: Softmod your 4.3 Nintendo Wii (http://chrislowthian.co.uk/how-to-softmod-your-4-3-nintendo-wii/)
All opinions welcome! :)

Modmii is much easier and there's another potential problem with it but I'll let you figure that out seeing as it's your tutorial

You didn't ask for help. You said you had written a tutorial and that usually means everything had been tried and tested before putting it out for scrutiny

It has been which is why I am wondering why you said there was a potential problem?

You are recommending that an sdhc card can be used formatted to fat 16. You will get problems. For a hassle free mod you should always use an sd card 2gb or less and not sdhc. Obviously for the nand backup it has to be at least 1gb and should always be formatted to fat 32. The wii reads 32kb clusters better. I say modmii is easier because if you had used it you would know that all you do is run it on the pc. It will ask you a few questions that you should know the answer to before starting a softmod anyway, it will then download a tutorial and all the files in the correct file paths and structures. You then follow the instructions and when you transfer all the files over to the sd, everything will already be in the correct place, so you can't get it wrong.....download modmii from the dk downloads section and have a play around with it, it does a lot more than just softmod tuts

I'm not knocking your tutorial mate, I'm just trying to save you some hassle trying to figure out what a complete newbie has done wrong for it not to work. Believe me if there is a way for it not to work a newbie will find it.

Yes you have misssed a few details off.
Install the Homebrew Channel and BootMii as ***8220;boot2***8243; if not choose ***8220;IOS***8221; then exit back to your Wii***8217;s Home Screen.
A 4.3 will install BootMii on IOS because boot2 isn't available.
You don't mension Prepare SD card on the HBC install if there is no [BootMii] folder on the SD card you can run BootMii and backup the NAND. I should be SD not SDHC card formatted FAT32.
You have an horrible downloader for the mod.zip it says you have to wait 9 minutes but if you click on the 9 minutes it looses 8 1/2 stupid site.
Why are the wad files in a seperate wad\mod folder?
Oh it takes 9 minutes to download mod.zip it must meean that?
