Apparently, M$ silently updated the dae.bin file last night on the existing dashboard (13604). This means that if you take the online title update to MW3 then most of your xdg3 back-ups will not work (apparently BF3and GOW3 are not affected).

this has to be the end of backups as we know it ,, seems pointless now to carry on

Nope not really. If a way to collect the ap challenge responces can be devised be it either thro firmware or abgx patching or making the backups.

You still have the rgh that I heard a dual nand solution was being looked at.

Honestly. Just hold on for now. See what the teams come up with. For now you have your non ap2.5 games to play or if you stay offline then your nkt effected

Warning! Dae.bin Being Silently Updated Through LIVE

First and foremost, a warning ? at this current time it is advised that you stay offline and avoid playing any AP2.5/XGD3 backups. It has been confirmed by the team that the dae.bin is now being silently updated on all LIVE-connected boxes.

This update is not being deployed via a SystemUpdate or TitleUpdate, but rather occurs in the background without any visual indication or prompt to the user. As such, there is no means by which it can be cancelled or avoided, other than not connecting to LIVE. If you?ve connected to LIVE in the past 24 hours, your system has likely already been updated with a changed dae.bin.

All AP2.5/XGD3 backups that contain the now older AP25 replay data will fail the system?s AP2.5 challenges and indeed flag your system (the flagging has also been confirmed by the team).

Like our news a few days ago, the dae.bin is now being changed by way of an appended challenge table in the same manner on current retail dashes (13604) as it is on the preview dash (14686), however the content of the challenge tables differ. The team has determined that the appended challenge table appears to be unique per console and contains indentifying information. This means that everyone?s dae.bin is different, and can potentially be traced back to your specific console. Therefore, sharing your dae.bin with others is not advisable.

You are not notified of the update mate.

I was playing MW3 online last night and everything was fine. I switched my machine on today and got told the disc was unsupported.

It wont matter if your online or off for AP2.5 violation. The dae.bin is stored in nand on the motherboard. It will flag for a ban. Best check in xval (old an not accurate anymore but people say it still flagging up AP2.5 violations) or try hdd/memory unit with profile save games in a unmodified console to check for a flag.

Glad i dont use live any more :)

Just ran xval, went into system settings on box, then system info and put console serial number in and also the X: 16 digit code at the bottom of the screen in the Encrypted X value - is this correct?

The decrypted x value returned all 0's with a 1 on the end and in the box is says - "Failed AP25 Challenge"

Does this mean i'm safe or flagged?

Flagged i rekon, is it just the box thats banned or will my account be stopped, can i put my hard drive onto another console and use that? what can i do to continue playing online?

ahhh something new - as above mine on xval says "failed ap25 challenge", thinking i've been flagged but just read a post that xval is no good now and checked it a different way described on xbox360iso and the code coming up is suggesting i'm not flagged http://www.ixtreme.net/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

So is this xbox360iso way a reliable way of knowing?

Thanks to BOAT for these Instructions:

REMOVE HARD DRIVE AND MEMORY STICKS AND CARDS BEFORE PROCEEDING

1. Turn on the xbox
2. When you get to the home screen there will be no profiles found. That's because you removed your hard drive/memory card which contained all your profiles. Easy to understand =).
3. Now go to system settings.
4. Go to Network Settings.
5. Click Test xbox live Connection
6. Start connection and wait for it to finish
7. When it is done you should get a message saying to update your system. Here is another important thing you need to do DO NOT UPDATE!!!!! I REPEAT DO NOT UPDATE YOUR SYSTEM!! Just click No, don't update.
8. You should get a test connection failed message. Just click cancel.
9. After that click Y and you should get a list of numbers or codes.
Check your code under the letter Z
It should say Z: "whatever the code is"
Here are the codes to determine if your console has been banned.
Z: 8015 - 1002 means you have not been flagged yet. Hurray but still be cautious when playing online.
If it shows something other than that like
Z: 8015 - 190D, that means that you console has been flagged or banned.

Just the console gets banned.
