putting maps on a sd card

Hi Folks, not only am I a newbie, but thick as well, I have read on here that I would need a bigger sd card if I wished to put western & and central europe on my sat nav, so I have bought a new 2g sd card for my tom tom go 300, I have read that I need to put it in a folder but where?. I am not very computer literate, so a step by step help would be very much appreciated, thank you very much

i believe that maps need to go to the root of the sd card. ie not in a folder, just open up the folder where they are on your pc and open up the sd card window. drag and drop and that should be you.
ps also just read that tomtom likes sd card with a fast transfer rate. look for a card lwith 133x for example

when you pop the sd card in your pc. a dialogue box open asking you what you want to do.
select view files and folders and a new window opens.
drag and drop your maps onto this window.

...after that I think You'll need crack the maps for recive *.DTC files in Your map folder.

Ok, Paddy & shady, I have now bought a 2 gb sd card & loaded the maps on to my desktop, please tell this computer idiot what to do next. thx
