Went away for a while and brother has somehow managed to get my box to not work, so from laptop did remote assistance to make sure the line was in dreambox control center, as that was ok as best as i could explain how to scan for channels he did do, that was no good as he said the menu for it was not showing up in setup, and when it finally did show up after i told him to open it, he said the screw on the tuner was loose, so i thought it might have been the tuner, and that did bring the satellite search menu back in setup. So away we went and did a scan for channels, but all it would bring was channel 4, e4, challenge and i cant remember the other 2/3 channels a good 3/4 times and no other channels, which i thought it might just be him not doing something correctly.

So now having done the most obvious of checks, we ended things there, until i came back home to see for myself. So now i have come to find it in just the same state as he told me so. I thought i would start afresh, so i erased then flashed the box, added satellites.xml, fired up ccam in settings, put the line into the box, then scanned for channels on 19.2e and 28.2e, this time it scanned as many services as did the first time i got the box when it was fine, which on astra was about 600 and 19.2 about 300. Seeing this i thought i might have overcome the problem, but when getting out of there and going back to the channel list, all it brings are the same few channels in clusters of 3/4 such as channel 4/ e4 etc and no other channel.

Can anyone spare a few minutes and help me out, as im on verge of wanting to just buy a new box and leave this even though it has only been used not much for about 6 months. thank for your time

Sorry to tell you, m8, but it sounds like a knackered tuner to me. But do a swap-out with a known good box, just to check Dish, LNB, cabling are all fine before binning the box...

Cheers- AL :)
