Hi Guys
I need some assistance please. I used my zedbull (orig) to produce a key for a customer. Car not here . Immo box or Ews 2 white box purple connector. When i read ews dump with omega i am able to extract dump (attached). Then i programmed blank pcf 7935 and made transponder succesful. When i read chip it brings up mileage and vin which corresponds with vin on car according to customer. Am i doing something or overlooking something? According to him car does not crank and when bridged it has spark no no injector pulse.
I think it is a 316 will let you know but please check dump or give tips if possible.

where your original key?

what key number did you select?.....
try to use key number 1-3 not other as on EWS2 sometimes ZB only accept to use key numbers that are used.
so check old key to se what is they memory and then select one that you don't have key for.
how did you get milage in EWS2?

no problem if he writing 1-3 used key.
ews editor can unsed the key

mileage cannot be manipulated but it shows on zb when i read key. also vin shows with old keys numbers are 0 and 1 should i post key data? also there is no additional info showing when i read with zb thanks for the prompt response guys

yes I know,
Few days ago I did E36 on EWS2 and try to make key to number 4,5,6 and key aren't accepted but when I select key 2 and 3 that have been used before, key programme straight in.
same thing I had on MINI with EWS3
that is point of my post,

ok i used key no 4 previous keys was 0 and 1 should i use 2 or 3 instead and should i use new blank chip now?

I did use key no 4 and this is the result
I did not use key no 2 or 3
Of previous keys not sure if it belong to car as it does not turn in ignition but their numbers are 0 and 1

use this dump,
wrtite key0,1,2,3...9 onto new pcf7935

is there a problem with my existing dump? or original dump can i not just write key to new pcf 7935 and use another key number like 2 or 3 . Please excuse the questions Bram i know you are very expirienced but what is wrong with dump?

EWS 1,2 have 3 type mcu like below:
a). 1D47J EWS-01
b). 2D47J EWS-01
c). 2D47J EWS-02
d). 0D46J EWS-02
you can exchange each type only with same version mcu.

try what I sugested
write 7935 to number from 0-2,You can use transponder that You allready made for number 4,just rewrite it to lower key number
key 1 or 2 it should work

Hi afta checking some more i noticed that what is to me a amplifier box underneath the steering is blown. the reader coil plugs into this and there is a component on here that is blown. Can anyone assist me with giving info on this. What is is and the value please guys?

Resistor 270 is 27-Ohm
you can use other amplifier.
plug & play, no need coding.

Part on picture = SE module
One connector with 3 wiries on it, +Bat and ground and wire that sends signal from key to EWS.
You have + and - on it?
If not/or key(broken) then you cannot get
communication with EWS!!
Even wrong key can wakup EWS
But there must go keydata from a key to SE/EWS

ok i have 12v + on 1 wire the 12v - then i got a blue wire and i see a blue wire at ews must i check for continuity ? there is no voltage on blue wire, also still no communication with ews and i have tried 2 now has anyone got a pin out for the ews ?

i only have launch for this i have opcom and vcds but i cannot use it on here and when i use launch it cannot communicate with ews and i have 12v pos and neg and continuity on communication wire to ews do you have ews pin out?

what ive noticed now also is that when i turn my ignition on i have 12v+ at blue signal wire on ews the other voltage i noticed is the 1v+ when the ignition is turned off is this correct guys? Can anyone assist? I have 2 plain black wires on ews with no voltage on it

Normaly I look with diagsoft (INPA/BMWscanner) wat's the fixed Keycode and wat's key number. And look at EWS dump.
Maybe then you see wat's wrong?

When i tried the virgin dump of vanos previously posted i get the same faults as previously. what i do notice in the live data is that it recognizes the ews as being new should i move the other chips and caps over from the other ews onto this new one? the elmos chips?

Diagnosetool tells you that Key2 not identified.
Key2 from diagtool = key1 inside dump I tink.

i tried to make key 1 now
live data reads still that ews is new
key data - recognized
key status - invalid
thats what i get now
also mage i see as key no 1 when i read with zedbull

i see this when i read key i programmed

Better you have upload eac fhoto of oryginal ews and second ews,mean is a picture board electronic

Your last dump = same as vanos dump:)

Normaly I read parameters with software and look wats problem with key.

thanks bram i will try your dump now attached is the 2 pics of the ews's i used the purple one is the original the yellow one my spare. I have moved over the small 8 leg chip from the one to the other next i will move the bigger ones near the capacitor over to complete the move.

no luck with with your dump Bram should i try to get another ews as i do not know if this one was working the other way is immo off is it possible to do it with this bosch ecu DME 0 261 203 447 please guys if you have immo off and this is possible let me know. Thanks

above ews can not swap, because different mcu type & version.
if you have other ews, make new key from this ews.
And synchrone with gt1.

hi Bram i have got another one nothing like the original purple box that was on here. This one is metal box with yellow plug. Outside says ews 2 however. Inside there is more components and mcu type is 1D47J can this work. If it helps HW 1 SW1 as the previous box was HW3 SW3. Thanks again for the great help
Just a question incase all else fails again is it possible to do a immo off for the car bosch ecu
Last question.
Can i not use original dump from purple ews 0D46j and write it to this "new" ews i have. Also i think according to your breakdown in 1 st page 1d46J mcu = ews 1 am i correct?
So this ews cannot be used here?

Ok guys my car is running with the original setup A SPECIAL THANKS TO THE TOP DOG VANOS BATAM for the help we should be privileged to have him with us good work Vanos. It turned out i had to resynch ecu and ews but also old ews i was using 2 yes was faultythe other ecu did not work. It ran funny in the car and had canbus faults ,Thanks to everyone that assisted in this thread Thank you Bram you and Vanos are living legends here makes me feel proud to know you he he most of all to belong to this forum thanks again

Hi ascotauto. Can you please explain what exactly you did to get communication with EWS? I'm stuck with exactly the same problem, i can connect to DME wich shows 81 disable EWS , but error when trying connect to EWS... i get two other signal amplifiers, but still no connection. :(

Can anyone help me please. Bmw e36 not starting. put on diagnosis (x431), in dme showing 81 ews dissable. try to scan ews, no communication with ews. got another ews, pluged in, stil no communication. got two signal amplifiers, try both, but ews still not wakes up. and here im stuck... cheked wiring, voltages to ews, amplifier all seems ok. just dont know how to check signal on wire from amplifer to ews. what i can use for that? i have ews emulator, but here got problems as well. connected emu to k line, but when trying to enter any isn, it says emu not responding or not connected. using elm327, maby its not good for emu, anyway, still dont know, how to get isn from dme. dont have inpa or gt1 :( maybe xprog can help. another problem, that car is 70 km from me... Any ideas how to wake up ews or how to start that car. attaching ews dump. thank you in advance for any help

Thank you very much bram380 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/members/67678-bram380/). With your dump car starts and no need pair to DME. Just something wrong with engine anyway, it works very bad, and when try accelerate it start shooting :D Looks like wrong timing o smthg... Diagnostic shows air flow meter, but i think problem different. flow meter could gone because of shoot...
