sounds like your dish is tracking the arc correctly if your not getting 42 east try 39 and 45 and make your way back from 39 east sounds very much like you may have a line of sight problem eastwards

Hi. When travelling from the West to the East satellites the motor will gradually lower the dish. If you get 39 east you should also get 42 east. You may need to slightly adjust the dish a fraction. Also check the channel on 42 east has a valid frequency. Sometimes people forget to check the frequencies for the sats. Also are you using USALS or DISEQC and what size dish are you using? Regards.

Depending on your location an 80cm should bring in 45,42 and 39 with a healthy margin

Hi. 80cm dish is more than adequate. Have you checked for 39 east?. If using USALS you should have no problems because it knows at what point to stop when going from one sat to another. Then if you dont get a signal/picture it is to do with the height of your dish ie it may need to move slightly up or down. Let us know what sats you are able to get. Regards.

Got a slight problem then lads i cannot see the lattude settings on the side of the motor but the other side still slides up and down is that elevation ?

Does anyone no what the opposite site of the motor setting should be if the lattitude side should be set at 52.5

sorry for being a pain

Hi. You dont need to worry what the other side should be because if you stop it at one end then the other end would stop as well. You cannot adjust them individually. If the other side is sliding up and down it means you have not got the bolts secured. For example if your latitude is 52 then the elevation will be set to 38. You cannot have 52 and say 44. 52 will be 38 as the setting. If i was you i would try to leave it 52/38. Tighten both bolts. Then send the dish back to THOR. Get a picture on channel GO at 11246V s/r 24500. GO is a test signal channel. Try and get a perfect picture for this channel as this should bring in all the other channels on this satellite. If you try to set it up on the BBC World News channel you may have problems getting the other channels. This is what i have found when setting up motors. When THOR is setup then send the dish to 5 west and see if you get a signal. If 5 west is ok then send it back to THOR and see if it is ok. Then send it to a different satellite and see if you get a signal. Remember when looking for satellites you MUST make sure you have correct frequencies set up for each satellites, also the satellite positions must be accurate as well. This is important because USALS will use the satellite postions within your setup to know where to stop. But it is important to get the initial satellite setup correctly. If you require further details let us know. Regards.

how was it

Hi. The elevation and declination settings are set as follows: Your latitude (based on your postcode) is the figure you take away from 90 to give the elevation setting. For example i live in London and my latitude is around 51 North. i take away 51 from 90 which gives me 39. These cannot be altered as they are preset to go together on the motor. This is why i said if your latitude is 52 then the elevation angle will be 38 (52 plus 38 is 90). My motor is a TM2600 and works perferct. To be honest i would not worry too much about this setting. I would concentrate on getting the first satellite set up correctly and then send it to other satellites. Remember that you can always adjust the motor setting as you go along until you find the right setting. Also make sure that the LNB is installed correctly otherwise this can also give you problems when looking for satellites. I have installed many motors in London and sometimes it is very easy othertimes it can be a pain but you will get there in the end. You need a lot of patience. Regards.

Hi. On TURKSAT at 42 east do you have a channel called TV8 (freq. 11871V s/r 8883). This is a FTA channel so you should get a picture when you find it. Also do you get sats HOTBIRD 13 EAST, ASTRA 19 EAST etc.. Regards.

Probably not no you have more open with keys east side and nothing west side, Most popular channels are also east side.

Who does'nt what i meant was most popular packages are from 1 west to 42 east with only probably 30 west of any use on that side.

So most popular sats are on the east side.

Yeah at the moment the keys are available for the EAST sats mainly at 19 and 39 . The good old days of 2 years ago are gone. Regards.
