Thinking of getting a 5402hd and was wondering if they are any good.I will be going the cs route and would like to know if they are easy to setup. It between an openbox s10 and the 5402 which is better the 5402 seems to be my fave choice at the minute but never owned a satellite receiver other than sky hd box and used a dreambox on cable. Many thanks

I would have said the tm5402 as its more like the blade 7000s , or a blade

as for cheaper ones I would rather get the new eagle800HD instead of an openbox , especially if the open was a clone

if your used to dreambox why not get a dm 800 pro clone very good value and if your used to working on them should be easy to set up for you.

I got a TM5402HD the other day, and I have to say it's brilliant, very impressed. It's going to take a bit of time for everything to click in my head, as the way it sets up a satellite/LNB (which you have to save before you do a scan) is a bit confusing.

The only thing I don't like about it is the rubbish on-screen graphic (menus/channel indicators/etc). It a bit early 90s if you ask me...

If someone can tell me how to replace them, I'd gladly get one of our graphic designers at work to do some top quality ones, and release that firmware for nowt.

I have fitted many 5402hd and can say they give any hd box out there a run for money on picture quality, it has one of the best tuners in my opinion far better than dm and goes up to 1080 p, unlike dm800 1080i , It is easy to setup incl hard drive streaming etc.
without doubt a good buy.

no m8 i have a couple here and they are not set up to take a second sat tuner if you just need the single tuner go for the blade bm7000 better option than tm more or less the same box

Can anyone please tell me how to setup cccam on this model.
This is my 2nd Technomate, great machine and easy to use, one of the best out there.
Thanks Parque.

works perfect for HD sat.channels but there is no freeview on the 5402 only freetoair sat. you would need the 6902HD for freeview and fta.
