Hi all
I need to know if anyone hear knows what is the best tool to change vin in the ecu via OBD

1 Will tunning tool do the job
or i need to remove the ecu and open on most cars

you will need to tell us which cars. Many you can do via obd, some you cant.

DODGE

i have lots of customers thet had their ecu swap from junk yard cant pass state inspection
i need to buy a tool thet at least can do most of these cars

Dear airbagunit,

if you want to do all these brands by OBD2 you?ll gonna need specific cables, will say you have to go OEM.
The CJ 4 generic scantool will work on Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep and Ford and it shouldn?t cost more than ~1000 bucks, will also work on some Ford, Opel etc.
Reconsider if you don?t want to program the memory chips, it would be a lot cheaper if you don?t have any OE tools yet.

maxidas 708 will edit vin# on nissan computers
j2534 interface wil edit vin on chrysler and toyota tis for toyota
i havent try but launch 431 will edit vw vin
ford can be done with the ids
chevy i cant tell you efilive but i not able to test
i need some one to help me with how erase immo from system for engine swap any help will be apreciate
