I need to make a spare key for a 2001 megane, my question is, can I use a used transponder chip, type is id60.
If not, can I put new chip in used remote key and program?
I think owner has 8 digit immo code, but where ele can I get this if not available?

cheers, ninja

No,you cant use second hand ones, you will find they get locked, I tried today,to unlock few with my original zbull, but no luck, apart from dealer, eeprom job,or china ren pin reader, to get the pin.
You can buy them from 3d group in notingham, same as chrysler, they are.

Thanks, I understand this for the transponder, but what about the remote?? Transponder is seperate.

ANYWAY:-

ALSO, I just put the ori key in my zedbull, and read it, this is what comes up:

DATA: FF 00 18279108
RESP: 7547E9 B28800
INFO: DST **LL

TYPE: 4D 60 CRYPTO WR

And on zedbull software main menu, I selected 60 crypto from 1st dropdown menu, put key in zed and clicked read, same data came up, and you have option to write to electronic head/tpx2.

I got and old electronic head that had been programmed for an old ford, put in zed and clicked write, a message appeared-'THIS SOFTWARE IS FOR TRANSPONDER PRODUCTION ONLY-DO YOU WISH TO CONTINUE?'
I clicked 'yes' and came up successfull.

when i read it, it comes up with the DATA EXACTLY the same as ori key!!, but the RESP section was different-can anyone shed some light on what this bit is??

ANYONE TRIED THIS BEFORE?

I will try it on the car tommorow and post results.

*CONFUSED*

if it don't start then try programming that transponder in.

how many times can you use the electronic head?

are the electronic headss just for 4d 60? - or can they be used for any car and any house hold immo e.g. toaster microwave etc etc

thanks

this is a EH2 head prev from a ford escort, I have just copied a 4c to it, then a 4d, so is re programmable.

If programmed on a 4C they are reusable, but I dont think you'd be able to reuse one if its been programmed on a 4D. I stopped using them years ago after so many of them failed. And they look shite as well.

TXP2's are starting to fail as well though. I've seen a few lately where the coils have come undone. And some of the JMA pods have a chip housing that is slightly too small and the chip cracks.

Im not talking about punters who've thrown their key off 12th floor balconys and now cant understand why the car wont start. Some of them are just dying through normal use.

.

thats fine - but if just going to use it to pinch cars from dumps other members have uploaded - thats cool.

Can you list what they do and don't do 46 and 48 ?????

All PSA cars, the transponder and remote, have to be matched from the begining when buying new(maybe few exceptions),you cant simply change the chip, then the remote wouldnt work!,its a pitty only if smoeone knew the secret of the matching bit!
Also, workdamnu is right on tpx chips,i dont use em much, its cheaper, and more reliable to programm in a normal 4D or 4C, If you copy ren.key on tpx2, dont forget to lock the tpx2 chip,as the car wouldnt start,if you dont!.

The point I was trying to make, is clone zed dont have any clone module, but seems it can do it this way, not had chance to check results yet but I will post results.

AND, I agree, they DAMN UGLY!!!

AND, as for the renault remotes, I think the solution is a little like the psa ones, if I precode a pcf for ID46 (with zed) then read it, the data is different than in a new un programmed remote.
SO, what I am saying is, cant these be done same as renault cards, ie read virgin data from a new one, the pre prog a new pcf with same data, yhen will remote program in??

Pleas feel free to try this and report, unless I get a chance first!!
