as the title suggests
last night we were burgled
the b*stards smashed a hole in the back door big enough to get a hand through and unlocked it.
the thieving ****s ransacked the kitchen and went into the downstairs hall where they got my wifes handbag and my daughters college bag
they stole money, my daughters touchpad, nintendo ds , a mountain bike from the shed and probably more but luckily the dog barked and the must have run off
first we knew was coming downstairs at 6am to find back door wide to the wall.
if you hear of anyone selling an HP touchpad in clydebank area or a apollo creed mountain bike please let us know
cheers

biggest problem is my daughter has all her study notes on her touchpad, all her homework and she is doing her highers this year.
I'm still shaking here and I feel so violated and impotent to do anything about it
the phrase why me comes to mind

Hope the police where more interested than they were when I got broke into a few years ago, police arrived about 4 hours later and said its a bit late now to take finger prints etc heres the crime no, bye
I know how you feel right now, angry about the bastards coming into your house as well as the goods they nicked about the fact you were in the house at the time and never heard anything .Hope the wife and daughter can get over it all right I know they will be worried about it for a long while ,might pay for them to see victim support to talk though it all.
Lets hope they get caught, keep a eye out ebay, shop windows, local free ads etc

A similar thing happened to a member on satkings, but they took a lot more.
A quiet word in the right places (inc police) could give you a name or two. What happens after that I leave to your imagination. Sadly I don't know any handy people in your neck of the woods.

sorry to hear what has happened
but didnt you hear anything when they made a hole in the door
also you should NEVER leave the keys in the lock, they should be placed out of site,i keep my dog in the kitchen and he hates hoodies, taxi men, police, postman, people wearin baseball caps,,well genarally he barks at anyone who walk past the kitchen window
consider in buying a cctv set up a cam at the front and one out the back
and if you got a shed get one of these
http://www.accessallhourslocksmiths.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/shed-bar.jpg
i made meself one of these a couple years ago when my shed got broken into, just raul bolted into the concrete blocks then welded the bolts so it cant be undone with a spanner

we had the same a few years ago when bought our first house.we heard a smash in the middle of the night so i crept downstairs into the kitchen carrying my driver (golf club).as i got to the bottom i saw 2 big black lads climing in thru the now busted back door, one turned towards me and smashed me square in the nose with half a house brick so i swung head height catching one of them full bore up the side of the head sparking him clean out.at this point his mate did a runner.while this was happening the wife was on the phone to the plod who turned up within 10 minutes full blues and twos the works.the first officer in took one look at the sparked out tosser lieing on the kitchen floor and read me my rights!!! he then proceeded to tell me with great pleasure that if he died i would be done for murder........
after 3 days said tosser woke up and basically admitted breaking in but said it was just him alone and he never had an acomplice,a story the judge believed as i could have been mistaken seeing as i had had my face smashed with an object.
this scrote got 100 hrs comunity service and half of that was painting the fence that runs the lenght of the alley (which just happened to be MY ****ING FENCE!!!!).

Get down the local boozers and offer a reward. You'll have names quicker than you know as there's no loyalty amongst scum. Sad though it is you may have to buy some of your own stuff back.
A locksmith mate of mine did a lock change for a guy from Dunbarton who had the same thing happen to him. This guy was loaded and connected. He offered a ?500 reward for the guys name then paid another ?500 to get the goods back. Lets just say the scum never got off Scot free.

someone I didn't know stopped me in the street this morning
he said "sorry to hear your house was burgled"
"hole in backdoor? right?"
he said a name
and then walked away
a little background here
I've been a scout leader here for 12 years so literally hundreds of people know me by name when I have only perhaps met them once or possibly never ever having talked to them.
anyway
is there any point in passing on this name to the police?
the guy named may be totally innocent and I can't even tell the police wh0 I got the name from as I honestly don't know.

You've got a name, you've got a dilemma?
Give the name to the police, they probably already know the little SH*TE'S, can't catch them red handed so can do ~~~~ all.
Find them yourself and string the ~~~~ers up by their short and curlies.
I personally would break my ankle before I'd stop kicking them.
Your an honest law abiding citizen and you need to be able to live with yourself, if you don't have the stomach for it (most don't) you need to let authorities deal with it.
Me - I think the police may be paying me a visit once I'd finished with them.
But is that worth it?????
Hope you and your family have a great christmas, they don't matter you do.
