Hi mates!!. How things are going?, here cold & wind ;).

I have a question about BSI's.

We have a 207 with a passenger airbag light problem, it doesn't lights out. We have checked all and peugeot planet says that there is a problem with the light/lamp. We have checked cabling and all seems fine.

We have tried another junkyjard bsi and the light switches off as usually first on after a few seconds it switches off. Easy, clone it and problem solved. Ummm not easy as it sounds.

After cloning the units I discover two things :), with the hurries I didn't checked that the units were the same, and the junkyjard one is different, check the attached picture, original is the following:

BSI 2004 P07 - 00
96 592 854 80

And the scrapyard one is:

BSI 2004 P08 -00
96 592 855 80

Well, after cloning the original to the scrapyard one the car doesn't starts appearing an strange message on the dash as if it was from an automatic geared car ..., I thought that it's completely normal, because they are not the same BSI.

But here is the thing that I found strange, the original dump seems to have a corrupted pin, so maybe it is partially corrupted? the car starts without problems but only this light doesn't goes away.

Three questions:

Could different BSI's be swapped?
Have someone an original dump for the BSI 2004 P07 - 00 96 592 854 80? (I can write it directly or it's needed to adapt something it it?, apart from reseting km.)
Its common that the content of the bsi memory gets scrambled?

That's all, thanks in adavance for helping me.

Kind regards, Mashu.

m8 airbag light comes from airbag module, not the bsi. the module is normally located around gearstick inside car, it sounds like it needs reseting.

dont forget to press thanks

No it doesn't have GPS, it matters?

lee_hdi & radiosolutions, why the light goes off with the scrapyard bsi?, with this bsi the car doesn't starts but switches off the light, after I cloned the 95128 eeprom from the original to the new one, the car still doesn't starts but the light remains always on. It's strange, isn't it?

Have you got lexia? It would be best to read and write down all original configurations out of the old bsi then virginise the new bsi and reprogram it with original pin.

Hi,

because the 207 who have GPS doesn't have band belt status
and it is a diferente configuration of BSI

if configuarion is not good Airbag light is on and no dtc when you read by pps

kam306, I'll take that into consideration for other cases, also I'm going to check it again to be sure that is not my case.

Thanks.

smokey08, this night I'll try it, first I need to restore the original memory content as I passed the error from the old unit to the new one.

My brother is still asking me why the problem couldn't be eliminated from the original bsi with lexia. I'm still thinking that the content of the eeprom have some kind of error (for example try to find the pin on the dump).

Maybe someone have a good dump for this type of bsi ...

Thanks for your help.

smokey08, it's sufficient to pass the dump over NYO4 to virginize it or I need to make any other change?

I have read over dk that is enough to fill with FF all the dump, but I'm not sure, what about the pin/immo code? vin? (I have pps but I don't usually use it, my brother does)

Thanks in advance.

Try and fill dump with FF. Then use pp2000 to reconfigure it to the car.

I think your original pin code is MH2X

Hi!,

Yesterday we tried the all FF dump file and did a full configuration of the bsi. Another problem arises, the keys can't be matched, I don't know why, maybe the transponder or immo is broken but I don't know.

What is more strange is the thing that you can observe from the pictures: If I put the scrapyard bsi on the car with it's original memory content the light is off, obviously it doesn't starts, but if I virginize it, the light is always on, it's really strange.

The problem is that we can not finish to configure the new bsi, on monday we will try to virginize the original bsi to see what happens, it's our last possible combination ...

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance, regards, Mashu.

You can't reprogram transponders, you need virgin ones
