cant see the point in a triple tuner myself , dual is ample unless you want c*ble of freeview as well , I would forget those and opt for a single or a twin tuner

as for cs , generally you will need a linux box , although a spider can serve n*wc*md

things have moved on since the hummy m8

so consider dual tuner , what type and size of HDD you wish to use , ethernet and usb ports , ca and ci slots , internal or external psu , linux (open source) or bespoke (closed source like your old hummy)

closed are easier to setup and use

open source much more difficult but better long term and have many more features

blade and tm (similar boxes) can get 7 day epg on portal channels on 28e

open source d/l the epg from sites on the net

too many variables to list , so pick the bones from those above

Dual tuner should suffice for most. But if you need the triple tuner, you could get a duo and a USB dvb-s2 tuner as a third satellite tuner. SUNDTEK make a USB tuner which should be compatible with vu+ with their latest drivers.

Triple tuner could be useful in a situation where you watching something on 1 chan, recording 2nd and anotherperson is streaming a third channel via mobile/iPad with dreambox live app or istreamgate app or maybe even remotely via webinterface.

Nobody is speaking about DM8000, that one has 2 sat tuners and 2 additional slots for optional tuners (could be terrestrial, cable or satellite). I think this is great receiver, though it is not today's model. I have filled empty slots with 2 terrestrial tuners, that was probably mistake, almost never used both terrestrial modules at one time, no need for that. But for 3rd sat tuner I see some value. On 1st tuner I plan to have all LNBs on stationary dishes, together up to 40 LNBs cascaded via several diseqcs. About 1/4 of those LNBs will be Twins or Quads, in case if there is need to connect another receivers. On second and third sat tuners of DM8k antennas on polar-mount (150cm and 180cm) will be connected. Streaming to local network will also be possible and simultaneous recording as well. Of course all that is not for trivial TV watching, that is mostly for hobby=fun.
