Hi Guys / Girls
I was hoping some of you might be able to confirm my suspicions.
A little back ground.
I was playing online when all of a sudden I had the sceen freeze with a few blocked lines running down the screen. The PS3 would not respond to anything so I had to turn it off from the back.
Now every time I fire it up with a disc in it, it crashes.
I have formated my HD (as it advised I had a corrupt file). This did nothing and still crashes.
I then done a full system restore (as advised by Sony). This also did nothing but wipe everything I had saved.
It will fire up and run if there is no dics in the drive. When I put a disc in it will start to load then freeze and crash after a few seconds. Also if I put in a DVD that will go to a blank screen, then the blocky lines will appear, the title music will play but the screen stay's frozen.
I suspect that the laser has become damaged or is out of align.
Any of you guys had anything like this happen before?
Will I have to replace the laser or can it be re-aligned?
Thanks
Ian
