Sealed ECU's

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can give some advice on opening heavily sealed ECU's?

I've struggled with a few in the past, but always managed to get them open in the end.

I've got an EDC16 from a Jetta that Im stuck with. The back cover is off, but the board is well glued down on the far side.

Is there any easy way of releasing it without damaging the board?

Heating it up?

As Lee said, heat it up on the back, around the edges where the glue is.
Don't go crazy with the heat, most glues fail above 80 deg.

Thanks for the replys guys.

I had it sat on a radiator for a couple of hours before posting and it wouldn't budge.

But after about 20 minutes of hot air on a low setting, I was able to get it apart.
