My grandad has a 10 year old Sky Dish, Looks like 80CM one as its old and its on a pole, Looks to be pointing towards 28.2E ( Obviously as he was with sly ), Now got to say its looking rather rusty, If i fit a new LNB and some nice new coax should it be okay to go ?
Regards

If its really old its pointing to Astra 19.2 thats what Sky uk was on before it went to Astra 28.2.
A new dish and lnb are peanuts to buy.
Dont see no reason why the dish wont work though.

Dont see why not but if your going up the ladder for what it costs you can put a new dish and quad lnb up for ?16 - ?18.
You may even get one for less if you shout in the Sat Section. Sly dont count dishes out to their installers.

Hmmm not sure if its pointing at 19.2 or astra, When did they switch to 28E, I know the dish is around 10 years old, Would it be worth investing in a new sky minidish, I'm clueless on how to set them up though, I set up one on my own house but required help from friends.
Regards & thanks for fast reply.

If so any brief tutorials on how to set it up ?
Will I need a sat finder ?
Regards.

could use that dish, dont need a sat finder.. would be easier with one for sure, but hook a receiver up first and see what u get.. if its on 28.2 already, then bonus, is not, just turn it till u get a signal on the telly
